Patent number: 9044104Abstract: An apparatus for seating a child comprising a seat and a foldable frame for supporting the seat. The frame comprises on left and rights sides: a first and a second frame member connected by a hinge assembly and relatively pivotal through substantially 180 degrees between an unfolded condition and a folded condition, and a third frame member connected to the hinge assembly and pivotal relative to the first and second frame members by less than 180 degrees between an unfolded condition and a folded condition. The first and second frame members are aligned and on opposite sides of the hinge assembly when unfolded and parallel and on the same side of the hinge assembly when folded. The third frame member is parallel with the first and second frame members when folded to provide a compact folded apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2013Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: MAMAS & PAPAS (HOLDINGS) LIMITEDInventor: Peter Smith

Patent number: 8899614Abstract: A collapsible child support apparatus includes a frame supporting a seat for the child, the frame and the seat having an open condition for seating a child in the seat and a collapsed condition. The frame includes left and right frame assemblies, each frame assembly comprising a front member, a rear member and a handle member pivotally mounted together by a hinge member to allow pivotal movement of the frame members between open and collapsed conditions. The seat includes a seat base supported by the front frame members, a seat back suspended to the handle members and a seat pivot to allow the seat back and seat base to pivot between open and closed conditions, wherein the seat back is suspended to the handle members to allow the seat back to pivot to any one of a plurality of reclined positions relative to the seat base in the open condition.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2013Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Assignee: Mamas & Papas (Holdings) LimitedInventor: Peter Smith

Publication number: 20100308552Abstract: A pushchair seat (10) comprising a seat back (18) mounted for pivotable movement relative to a seat base (20). A bumper bar (14) is pivotably coupled to and carried by the seat (10) and is moveable between a stowed position generally adjacent to the seat base (20) and a deployed position spaced from the seat back (18) and the seat base (20). Drive mechanisms (16) are provided at each end of the bumper bar (14) and comprise a selectively engageable coupling mechanism in the form of a clutch mechanism (30, 32) and a control mechanism (34, 56, 58). The coupling mechanism couples movement of the seat back (18) between its stowed position and its operating position into a corresponding movement of the bumper bar (14) between its stowed position and its deployed position.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2008Publication date: December 9, 2010Applicant: MAMAS & PAPAS (HOLDINGS) LIMITEDInventors: Nicolas James Mival, Andrew Gordon Wallace, Martin Paul Bagwell, Benjamin James Peter Hubert, Simon Lewis Bilton
