  • Publication number: 20070297273
Abstract: A drive system for a plasticizing unit of an injection molding machine includes at least one drive motor which is operatively coupled to a plasticizing screw of the plasticizing unit for providing power for axial movement and rotation of the plasticizing screw in a plasticizing cylinder. A spindle-nut assembly is provided for converting the power of the drive motor to cause a movement of the plasticizing screw in an axial direction. Arranged between the drive motor and the plasticizing screw is a torque transfer case which may be constructed in the form of an epicyclic gear system which has an input side coupled to the drive motor and an output side coupled to the plasticizing screw.

  • Patent number: 7054693
Abstract: A control system for a plastics processing machine with at least one central processing unit with a real-time operating system is described. The central processing unit is connected to a plurality of actuators and/or sensors via a bus system, with at least one actuator and/or sensor directed to a rapidly fluctuating variable with a high-resolution. The first central processing unit can be released of overly burdensome control and communication tasks by using a first pre-processing unit which performs signal pre-processing for several sensors and/or actuators and by using a second pre-processing unit, which relieves the central processing unit directly of the bus communication.

  • Patent number: 7033158
Abstract: An injection screw is rotationally driven by a rotating motor having a stator and a rotor and can be moved by a number of electrical linear motors, linear motor comprising a primary part, which functions as a stator, and a secondary part, which is linearly movable in the axial direction in a screw cylinder to execute the injection function. The primary parts are assembled to form a first housing-like unit and the secondary parts are assembled to form a second housing-like unit which is coupled to the screw for drive purposes. The rotating motor, fixedly connected to the screw in the axial direction, is arranged with its stator fixedly coupled in the axial direction to the secondary housing-like unit.

  • Patent number: 6984121
Abstract: A platen of an injection molding machine includes a plate-shaped center area having corners, each corner formed with a recess. A plurality of sleeves is received in the recesses of the center area and defines bores for accommodation of column-like holding and/or guide elements. The sleeves have an outer surface in confronting relationship to the center area and are configured for only partial connection to the center area, thereby establishing an elastic connection between the center area and the sleeves.

  • Patent number: 6875006
Abstract: The invention relates to a screw mechanism comprised of a screw shaft (1), a screw nut (2) and rolling bodies. When the screw mechanism is subjected to a high static load, the forces are transmitted from the screw shaft (1) to the screw nut (2) by means of the rolling bodies. As the contact surfaces between the rolling bodies, the screw nut (2) and the screw shaft (1) are very small, only relatively weak forces can be transmitted. In order to adapt the screw mechanism to high static loads, using simple construction measures, the surface of the screw shaft (1) between the grooves (4) of the rolling bodies is provided with locking structures which can be form-fittingly connected with complementary locking structures of locking elements (7, 8) which are moveable essentially transversally to the axis of the screw shaft (1).

  • Patent number: 6837701
Abstract: A device for the removal of plastic injection moldings from the mold of an injection molding machine having movable and fixed die chucking plates includes a drive unit for moving an actuating element toward or away from the mold. The actuating element is connected to a spindle mounted in an engagement component. One end of the spindle is connected to a toothed disk. A tubular component is mated with the toothed disk so that the toothed disk is fixed with respect to rotation relative to the tubular disk and is axially movable therein. The tubular component is rotatable by the drive unit for effecting the axial displacement of the actuating element.

  • Publication number: 20040173925
Abstract: The invention relates to a control method for controlling the back pressure in an injection molding machine which includes a first motor that axially displaces a screw and a second motor that turns the screw, whereby both motors act upon a common shaft. In order to control the back pressure, a speed value for controlling the second motor is furnished as a rotational speed input value to a control circuit for controlling the speed or rotation speed of the first motor. The back pressure is thus controlled in dependence on a pressure differential via the difference in rotation speeds of both motors.

  • Patent number: 6746232
Abstract: A mold mounting plate for an injection molding machine for processing material, in particular plastic material, includes a main body having a plate-shaped central portion. Received in the main body are plural sleeves which define openings for support of column-like holding and/or guiding elements of the injection molding machine, and are secured to the central portion such as to establish a flexible bending/torsion joint.
