    Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a terminal connecting portion in an electronic device such as a capacitor having a plate or strip terminal. An electronic device has a device body. An insulator is formed on at least one portion of the outer surface of the device body. A pair of electrode layers are formed on the insulator. They are made of conductive material. A pair of plate or strip terminals having flat surfaces overlaid on the electrode layers and connected to the device body by the electrode layer. Each of the terminals has a projection projecting from the flat surface, is embedded in the electrode layer, and is formed of conductive material having a higher melting point than that of the electrode layer.

A pair of external electrodes are formed on the two major surfaces and are connected to the platelike electrodes. The platelike electrodes partially overlap each other. The portion of the varistor element, sandwiched between the overlapping portions of the electrodes, provides varistor characteristics.

    Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a compact and light-weight chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitor, thin external leads are welded to flat anode and cathode foils. The anode and cathode foils are superposed with an insulating spacer interposed therebetween. The portion between the anode and cathode foils is impregnated with an electrolytic solution to obtain a capacitor element. The two surfaces of the capacitor element are covered with synthetic resin laminate films. The openings of the laminate films are welded and sealed to complete the capacitor.

    Abstract: A sintered body for a humidity sensor is formed by baking a blend at 1,000.degree. to 1,400.degree. C., the blend comprising ZnO, Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, V.sub.2 O.sub.5 and M.sub.2 O where M.sub.2 O is at least one metal oxide selected from Li.sub.2 O, Na.sub.2 O and K.sub.2 O. A pair of electrodes are each attached to the corresponding surface of the sintered body to obtain a humidity sensor of metal oxide which is relatively low in its resistive value and stable in its aging characteristic.

    Abstract: A capacitor element is enclosed within a laminated film including at least a plastic film. The laminated film portion surrounding the capacitor element is heat sealed to form an enclosure structure sealing the capacitor element. The sealing width of the sealed portion formed by heat sealing is selected to be within the range of 1 to 20 mm. The thickness of the inner film of the laminated film opposing the capacitor element is selected to be within the range of 70 to 200 .mu.m. A capacitor of improved life time is obtained.

C. or more.
