Abstract: The invention covers a method for establishing undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells by thawing cryopreserved human embryos, preferably blastocyst stage embryos, and culturing at least a portion of the embryos on a medium capable of sustaining undifferentiated embryonic stem cells, to establish undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells.
