Abstract: The foot bearing the seat surface of a seat is divided at a distance of 20-30 cm from the seat surface. Between the mutually facing end faces of the two foot parts (5a,5b) a rubber cushion (9) is arranged, the circumferential area of which is widened to form a brake ring (11). The elastic restoring force, working counter to the inclination of the seat, of this cushion is reinforced by two further cushions (16,17) arranged within the foot parts (5a,5b). By means of the suitable arrangement of sliding elements with low friction (T1-T3), the mutual rotation between the two foot parts (5a,5b) is ensured.Thanks to this construction, the seat surface can be swiveled in a tumbling manner in such a way that every point of said seat surface moves on an imaginary spherical surface and thanks to the mentioned elastic restoring force, the seat part always returns automatically to its initial position.

Abstract: On the fixed stand (1) of a piece of reclining furniture, a pendulum frame (2) is suspended in a freely oscillating manner via several tension members (52). Supporting elements (51) of the pendulum frame (2) project into the box-shaped bases (3) of the stand, which supporting elements (51) can be combined there with an amplitude limitation (54) on the one side and with a damping device (56, 57) on the other side.

Abstract: A pendulum frame (2) is suspended on a fixed stand (1) by means of four pendulums (16). The amplitude of each of the pendulums (16, 17) is limited by a plate (24) provided with an orifice (23). The plates (24) carry locking projections (28), into which detent pawls (26), arranged on the pendulum frame (2) can engage. When only one of these detent pawls (26) is in the locking position, the bedding furniture can swing about this detent pawl which functions as a pivot pin. When two detent pawls (26) located behind one another in the longitudinal direction of the bedding furniture are locked, the pendulum frame (2) is blocked and is held outside its mid-position on one side. A free-swinging mid-position, four pendulum positions locked at one point and two fixing positions locked off-center are therefore available for each piece of bedding furniture.The bedding furniture can be adapted to meet individual sleeping requirements and is also characterized in that bed care becomes considerably easier.

Abstract: The spring bridges of an undermattress are provided with lifting slats (9) which lift the unloaded mattress during the day for the purpose of better airing of the plywood springs (4, 5). During loading by a reclining person, the lifting slats (9) fall back below the upper edge of the plywood springs (4, 5) so that the mattress is then supported normally.

Abstract: A rocking cradle (2) is arranged on the inner surface of the longitudinal side section (1) of a reclining furniture frame, which rocking cradle (2) is provided with fixing members (4) for accommodating a rubber-elastic support body (5). The support body (5) in turn supports fixing members (8) for detachably fixing cross-slats (7).The rocking cradle (2) is pivotably suspended on the longitudinal side section (1) via an axis (A) arranged in its upper center area and can therefore adapt itself to the load conditions caused by the anatomy and arising in the transitional area of the shoulder and upper rib part when a reclining person is in the side position.

Abstract: An under-mattress for bed furniture has an adjustable head part which can be continuously adjusted in its inclined position in both directions, without first having to be returned to its starting position. The horizontal pivoting axis of the head part is chosen such that it divides the head part into two sections, the smaller one of which is nearer the foot of the bed and, as the head part is raised, forms a hollow for the shoulder of a person lying on his side (FIGS. 2 and 13).

Abstract: An upper mattress for reclining or seating furniture comprises a foam substance member preferably divided horizontally into two symmetrical halves. A plurality of cavities extend through the middle of the member or between the halves transversely to the longitudinal axis of the mattress. Each cavity is defined by a wall having a step forming a horizontal support shoulder extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cavity. The shoulder is arranged between the apex of the cavity and the median plane so that the resilient reaction force of the mattress increases continuously with increasing loading and then, when the support shoulder is deflected so as to come into contact with an opposite part of the cavity wall, assumes a progressively increasing value.

Abstract: An under-mattress for a bed or similar article of furniture comprises a frame having two longitudinal limbs with elastic support elements attached to the inside thereof. The elastic support elements are located opposite each other in pairs for supporting spring bridges 3 disposed transversely of the mattress. Each spring bridge has formed therein at least one slot-like recess A extending longitudinally of the bridge and dividing it over a large portion of its length into parallel spring laths.
