Publication number: 20030115850Abstract: For producing a yarn (4) spun from a loose fibre array (2) using a vortex flow an apparatus is used in which between a fibre supply duct (1) and a yarn take-off tube (5) a vortex chamber (3) is provided. Into the vortex chamber (3) a fluid is injected via tangentially oriented nozzles (6), which subsequently is drained via an exhaust duct (7). This apparatus comprises a wall limiting the vortex chamber downstream zone formed e.g. by a wall plate (20). This plate separates the vortex chamber (3) from the exhaust duct (7), but for completely draining the fluid is provided with a plurality of openings (21) extending to the exhaust duct (7). Owing to the functional separation of the vortex chamber (3) from the exhaust duct (7), in which the inventive apparatus differs from the state of the art, the fibre losses are reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2002Publication date: June 26, 2003Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventors: Herbert Stalder, Peter Anderegg

Patent number: 6581248Abstract: A card is equipped with a regulating drafting system at the card delivery arrangement. The measuring values for regulating the drafting system are obtained from the drafted fibre sliver. The sliver depositing device can be pre-controlled relative to the drafting system in order to keep the stresses in the fibre sliver between the drafting system and the sliver depositing device within limits. A fibre sliver storage device (11) is arranged upstream from the regulating drafting system (13) with relatively small capacity. In order to enable timely action if long term deviations are detected in the fibre sliver mass (m) delivered, a sensor (10) can be arranged between the card (1) and the regulating drafting system (13), and the base rotational speed (U14) of the drive (25, 26) of the regulating drafting system (13) can be adapted based on signals transmitted by the sensor (10).Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Christian Müller, Jürg Faas

Publication number: 20030110755Abstract: The present invention concerns a pneumatic spinning apparatus (1) for producing a yarn or thread spun from fibres. In a nozzle block (2) a hollow room (3) with a spindle (5) is arranged. At least one jet nozzle (4) serves for generating a rotating air stream in the hollow room (3). Opposite the spindle (5) a fibre guide means (6) is arranged, which in the yarn forming process serves as a false core. A fibre guide duct (11) merges from the exterior into the hollow room (3) at the foot end of the fibre guide means (6). The fibre guide duct (11) presents a variable cross-section along its length.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2001Publication date: June 19, 2003Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventor: Peter Anderegg

Publication number: 20030092522Abstract: EP-A-627505 describes a connecting system between a revolving flat bar of a revolving flat card and a flexible drive belt. The system is based on snap-in connections. According to EP-A-753610, every snap-in connection comprises two rails (230) which each touch an inclined surface (214, 216) on the belt. According to the present invention such a snap-in connection can be supplemented by a locking element (300) which prevents an inadvertent loosening of the snap-in connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2002Publication date: May 15, 2003Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventors: Christian Sauter, Paul Cahannes, Peter Weber

Patent number: 6543104Abstract: A nozzle for the treatment of threads is divided in the conveying direction into a conveying part, a compression section and a guiding part. The compression section, for the purpose of forming a yarn plug, includes fixedly arranged radially and axially directed lamellar. The ends of the lamellar which face the guiding part are neither in contact with each other nor with any surrounding parts of the nozzle so that fibers which are located in the gaps between the lamellar, and which radially exit the channel being formed by the lamellar can reach an inlet funnel of the guiding part or a plug guide tube respectively, without colliding with any edges.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventor: Armin Wirz

Patent number: 6499194Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the draft of a fiber mixture (e.g. a sliver) of a textile machine, with sensors being provided which detect the fluctuations in mass of the fiber mixture which is supplied to a drafting arrangement unit including at least one changeable drafting zone which compensates the fluctuations in mass. A delay time is provided in order to take into account the running time of the fiber mixture from the measuring sensor up to a control application point. A method is therefore proposed whereby, for the purpose of changing certain control parameters, the delivery speed of the fiber mixture and/or the comparison of the measured progress of the mass of the fiber material supplied by the drafting arrangement unit with a predetermined setpoint progress of mass (setpoint) are used.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2001Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Götz Theodor Gresser, Christian Müller, Christian Griesshammer

Patent number: 6497008Abstract: A method for operating a bale opening machine (1) includes the step of defining a desired normal or operational take-off depth for the take-off device or extraction member (6) to be applied to all of the bales (7) of the bale lie. An actual take-off depth is computed for predetermined positions along the bale line as a function of the normal take-off depth and factors computed for the respective positions to take into account bale height differences and density differences between the bales. With respect to the bale height differences (4MAX−aMIN), the take-off factors have a proportional value based on a bale height at the respective positions compared to a total bale height difference between the highest and lowest bales. A total bale height is recomputed prior to each pass of the take-off device and the actual take-off depth factors are set to a value of 1 if the computed total bale height difference is reduced to at least the magnitude of the normal take-off depth.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2001Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Walter Schlepfer, Nikolaus Lagler, Reto Kummli

Publication number: 20020144496Abstract: In a spinning position of a spinning machine a longitudinal fibre array first is refined in a drafting process, and the refined fibre array (10) then is subject to a twist imparting process, and is taken off the twist-imparting zone as a yarn (11). In case of an interruption of the spinning process the intake into the refinement zone is stopped before the delivery from the refining zone is stopped in such a manner that the longitudinal fibre array is severed between the intake and the delivery zones forming a free front end zone. The free end (11) of the yarn, generated by the interruption of the spinning process is treated in such a manner that a yarn end zone (1) is formed tapering off, and is positioned upstream from the twist imparting zone. Ad the spinning process is resumed the movements of the yarn end zone (1) and of the fibre array front end zone (2) for imparting twist are coordinated in time sequence in such a manner that these two zones overlap as they are subject to the twist imparting process.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Applicant: MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER AGInventors: Peter Anderegg, Christian Griesshammer
