Abstract: A video switcher that enables to perform setting operation while checking the set values without being distracted by a display unit even during a program is provided. Knobs (21) serving as setting operation members are provided on a console (13) and are operated for changing the set values of the video effects. A display unit (17) displays the set values in accordance with the operation of the setting operation members. The display unit (17) is movable in a predetermined retraction direction in which the exposed range is reduced. The position of the display unit (17) in the retraction direction is detected. A control unit controls displaying by the display unit (17) in accordance with the detected position information and changes the display of the set values so as to display the set values on the exposed range that is remaining when the display unit (17) is shifted in the retraction direction.

Abstract: A flash memory system is disclosed. The flash memory system includes a flash memory comprising more than one physical block and more than one page, where each page can be in an enabled state, a blank state or a disabled state. In use, a merge control section reads data on an enabled page from a predetermined physical block using a read section, and writes the data onto a blank page using a write section, thereby copying the data on the enabled page onto the blank page. A merge control section then disables the enabled page using a page-disabling section. When the copying of the data from all the enabled pages in the predetermined physical block is finished, the merge control section collectively erases all the data in the physical block using an erase section.

Abstract: Changes of ink properties are prevented in an ink jet recording head, an ink cartridge, and a recording apparatus which include ink containing a dye having an anion group, a humectant, a penetrant, water, and a hydrolyzable silane compound having an amino group. Resin or rubber which contains a hydrogen ion releasing additive is used for a member of the apparatus with which ink for ink jet recording comes in contact. The content of the additive in the material is not less than 0.001% by mass and not more than 0.1% by mass. The additive includes at least an acid, a ketone, and a functional group of ester each of which exhibits acidic properties.
