    Abstract: A building toy component comprises a main body having opposing top and bottom surfaces and a thickness. The building toy component also comprises at least one slot that opens on a peripheral edge of the main body, wherein a nominal width of the slot is substantially equal to the thickness of the main body. The slot includes opposing sidewall having at least one engagement strip within each slot. In particular, each engagement strip extends traversely across a sidewall of the slot and tapers along a height of the sidewall.
