The apparatus is characterized in that the insertion device has a plurality of receiving positions for all the longitudinal wires of a basket to be produced using the basket welding machine, the insertion device having a receiving element for receiving the longitudinal wires of a basket, the receiving positions being spaced apart in the radial direction from an axis of rotation of the insertion device, wherein the insertion device is designed to feed at least two longitudinal wires arranged on the insertion device to the basket welding machine simultaneously in one insertion operation, the insertion operation of the longitudinal wires into the basket welding machine being effected by a movement of the insertion device in the axial direction of the axis of rotation of the insertion device.     Abstract: A suitable automatically operating apparatus is proposed for producing reinforcing cages for rectangular pipes made of concrete. Longitudinal-wire sections, which are parallel to the pipe axis, are held together in a framework. The latter essentially comprises a perforated frame, which cannot be moved in the longitudinal direction, and a receiving frame, which can be displaced relative to the perforated frame. Rectilinear transverse-wire sections, angles or bent brackets are welded onto the longitudinal-wire configuration, to be precise onto the respective side surfaces of the longitudinal-bar configuration in a freely selectable manner. Fitting apparatuses which can be displaced perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal-wire sections are used for this purpose. In addition to the wire thickness, it is also possible to select the spacings between the transverse-wire sections provided in each case.

    Abstract: A machine for producing reinforcing cages for concrete pipes is described, the reinforcing cages comprising longitudinal wires and a winding wire wound around them and welded to them at the intersections. In order to make manual work superfluous and to improve the machine performance, a wire feed device is provided which automatically fits the machine with the required longitudinal bars before each winding process. The device comprises a feed apparatus (21) for a plurality of wires (33), adjoining guide tubes (37), whose mouths are aligned with the collecting funnels (9), and a cutting device (38). The said machine parts may be combined to form a feed frame (44) which can be displaced longitudinally altogether. Guide mouthpieces (39) are distributed uniformly over the circumference on the same diameter as the cutting devices (38) on a supporting disk (51) which is rotationally fixed to the main disk but can be displaced longitudinally with the feed frame (44).

Adjustable guide pieces are carried by the main wheel for supporting the longitudinal rods to be welded. A first servomechanism is connected to the guide pieces for producing a common uniform adjustment of the guide pieces. A welding carriage is movable transversely to the machine longitudinal direction. A second servomechanism synchronized with the first servomechanism moves the welding carriage in synchronism with the adjustment of the guide pieces and the rods and wire consecutively during rotary movement of the main wheel.

Two coaxial discs are provided. A main disc, fixedly mounted on a base frame, carries radially displaceable guide pieces for the longitudinal bars. A support disc, mounted on a carriage movable in the direction of the axis of the main disc, carries a clamping device for clamping the ends of the longitudinal bars at a selectively different spacing from the axis of the disc. The clamping device comprises elongate clamping members which constitute radially extending clamping slits. The clamping slits open and close in parallel over their entire length. The length and position of the clamping members correspond to the range of adjustment of the guide pieces on the main disc.

    Abstract: A machine for the manufacture of reinforcing bodies for concrete pipes and the like, which comprises longitudinal bars and wire wound about the longitudinal bars. Two coaxial, synchronously driven discs are provided. A first disc carries radially displaceable guide pieces as a welding rest for the longitudinal bars. A welding device is mounted on a transversely moveable welding carriage and makes welds successively on the longitudinal bars. The guide pieces and the welding device are adjustable automatically and continuously over the total radial stroke given with a first disc of specific diameter. Traction lines guided by rollers in the longitudinal direction engage the guide pieces. An axially directed hydraulic cylinder drives the traction lines and a transversely directed hydraulic cylinder, synchronized with the axially directed cylinder, drives the welding carriage. It is consequently possible to produce in succession reinforcing bodies of selected diameters without loss of time for changeover.
