Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for dispensing a single serving of a viscous or semi-solid product from a container, the container comprising a base, a deformable portion and an outlet, the apparatus comprising deforming means movable to engage and deform the deformable portion to discharge product from the container through the outlet, a seating for supporting the base of the container during dispensing of product from the container, an arm carrying the seating and movable between an operating position and a non-operating position in which the container may be removed from and placed in the seating, and support means for the arm whereby the arm is movable between said positions, the deforming means being engageable with the container only in the operating position.

Abstract: A deformable container is provided which is especially intended for dispensing semi-solid product. It has two end walls at opposite ends and in one end wall is provided an opening through which product is dispensed from he container. The side wall of the container is formed in the manner of a concertina by the provision of pleats and the widths of the pleats differs over the length of the container being greater over the pleats adjacent the end wall having the outlet compared with the depth adjacent the opposite end wall. The invention also provides a method of filling the container in which the container is initially fully deformed and product enters through the opening and causes the container to move towards its extended position.

Abstract: A dispensing mechanism is primarily intended for dispensing food products, such as ice cream, in semi-solid form. The machine has particular application in dispensing portion-sized containers of product. The containers (10) are filled with product through an open end which is then fitted with a closure member (11). The containers are then located in a discharge unit (25, 29) and the container (10) or the closure member (11) is deformed on operation of the unit. The product is discharged through an outlet which may be in the closure member or in the container.

Abstract: Refrigerated storage apparatus is primarily intended for storing product which can be removed without significant loss of cold air and is suitable for vertical, upright cabinets. The apparatus has a main access door extending vertically and moveable about a vertical axis. Access openings are provided, usually in the door to gain access to products within the storage compartment, the openings being of relatively small size. The compartment houses storage means for product and there may be storage means for each kind of product. Closure means seal off each access opening.
