    Abstract: A machining center for machining profiles may include: a base having a longitudinal axis, the base defining a work surface extending with first and second ends along the longitudinal axis, wherein the base is configured to receive a profile manually laid along the longitudinal axis of the base by an operator or by a specially-designed automatic feeder; a plurality of support and lock members for supporting and locking the profile on the base, wherein each of the support and lock members can be placed on respective profiled guides which extend parallel to the longitudinal extent of the base between the first and second ends, and wherein each of the support and lock members is displaceable independently along the longitudinal extent of the base; a pair of vertical columns, each of the columns supporting at least one first motorized spindle; and/or a portal structure, comprising an upper beam, above the base.

    Abstract: A method and a press for crimping metal terminals onto electric cables, wherein the metal terminal is retained in the centered crimping position, during the entire crimping process. To this end, the press of the invention comprises a crimping assembly (3) provided with means of controlling the knife (7) for the conductor (18) of the electric cable (19) independently or separately from the remaining knives (8,9), respectively for crimping the insulation (20) of said cable (19) and for detaching the carrier strip (21) supporting the metal terminal (17). By comparison with the known art, the method and the press of the invention offer the advantage of ensuring that the metal terminal is kept centered in the correct position for crimping, without undergoing unwanted displacement during the process of attaching to it the conductor and the insulation of the electric cable.

    Abstract: An applicator device for attaching metal terminals onto electrical cables, of the type comprising a crimping assembly (4) equipped with a support (11) for the knife (6) for crimping the insulation of the electrical cable and for a blade (7) for cutting and detaching the metal terminal from the respective carrier strip, and equipped furthermore with a knife (5) for crimping the conductor of the same electrical cable, a load cell (10) being provided for detecting the crimping load on said terminal. The device of the invention comprises in particular means for the independent or selective transmission of the reaction F3 to the crimping thrust F1 onto the said knife (5) for the conductor of the electrical cable, these means consisting of a block (8) and a shaft (9) for transmitting the same reaction F3 onto the said load cell (10).
