  • Patent number: 5038588
Abstract: A T-handle lock assembly for vending machines or the like include a two-piece cylinder front handle and cylinder/extension rod housing subassembly which interlock by means of first and second asymmetrical flange edges integrally formed on the housing and corresponding recessed slots within the cylinder front handle. A single set screw is threaded into an aperture in the front handle extending in the direction of the slots to engage and rigidly secure the housing to the handle so that the lock cylinder is in alignment with a key access passage in the front surface of the cylinder front handle. The arrangement prevents access to the lock cylinder when in a locked condition even if the set screw is removed.

  • Patent number: 5010745
Abstract: A high security post lock according to the invention includes a hardened shell having a head member at one end thereof and an eccentric locking cam rotatably mounted at the other end. The lock is adapted to be inserted through an opening passing through a door frame and a door to secure the door. In a first or open position, the circumference of the cam is coextensive with the circumference of the shell, so that the lock can be inserted into and withdrawn from the door. In a second or locked position, the locking cam projects outwardly from the shell to prevent withdrawal of the lock and thus secure the door. Movement of the cam is limited by a pin and groove arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4866964
Abstract: A removable core cam lock of the type having a key operated core within a shell, is provided with a spring clip controlled by a core removal key which is longer than an operating key. The spring clip fits in a groove in the core and extends through a slot in the shell so that when the core removal key is put into the lock it operates the lock and on rotation of the lock it lifts the spring clip to allow core removal.

  • Patent number: 4829798
Abstract: A combination switch lock/cam lock assembly which includes a one-piece shell, a plug with a tenon, an electrical switch, and a cam is insertable from the front face of a panel opening by not affixing the cam until after the lock is inserted. After the lock is inserted in the panel and secured by a panel nut, the cam is installed by insertion through a slot in the shell to engage and be rotated by the tenon, and a spring-like retainer carried by the cam grips the tenon to retain the cam on the tenon and prevent the cam from being easily removed from the shell.

  • Patent number: 4552001
Abstract: A pop-out T-handle assembly of the type containing a lock cylinder having high security features which defy forced entry is disclosed. A cylinder front handle and cylinder/extension housing are assembled around the cylinder lock and rigidly secured for protection against pulling the lock. The face of the cylinder lock is preferably protected by a freely rotating cylinder protector plate to protect against drilling into the cylinder lock. A locator tab and slot arrangement assures alignment of the cylinder lock bolt and a corresponding opening in the T-handle housing, as well as restricts lateral movement of the cylinder front handle within the T-handle housing to protect against prying. A T-handle clutch arrangement of a generally square configuration provides extensive bearing surface to absorb torque and prevent wear.

  • Patent number: 4530223
Abstract: A rim cylinder protection unit includes a single flat thick solid hardened steel guard plate counterbored to receive the rim of the cylinder. The cylinder is secured to the plate and prevented from rotation by cooperation with a cylinder retaining plate attached to the backside of the guard plate. The thick solid steel guard plate has heavy mounting studs welded by hardened material to the plate to extend through the door and these studs are protected by hardened steel sleeves to prevent burglars from chiseling through the studs. A replaceable cover conceals the rugged steel guard plate.

  • Patent number: RE30243
Abstract: A closure for a padlock body containing a removably fixed lock cylinder primarily comprising a circular member having a concave recess in its perimeter coacting with the shorter leg of the padlock's shackle at the top of the padlock, the underside of the said member having a bayonet-like latch preventing the member from being withdrawn from the top of the padlock via coacting with the interior of the padlock body wherein the aforesaid lock cylinder is enclosed unless the member is rotated a predetermined amount, and the rotation of the member being prevented by the said leg of the shackle being in its proper socket in the body of the padlock in its locked position. The keyway to the lock cylinder for locking and unlocking the padlock is in the bottom of the padlock extending into the padlock body as is well known in the art.
