  • Patent number: 6526160
Abstract: An iris recognition system capable of remarkably reducing time taking from an image pickup of an iris image to generation of an iris code and of simplifying the construction is implemented. A sensor 10 comprises a group of pixels arranged in polar coordinates. An iris image is controlled so that the iris image is correctly formed on the sensor 10, particularly, the center of the iris image matches. The inner and outer diameters of the iris are detected according to the iris image formed on the sensor 10, and the difference between the inner diameter and the outer diameter in the radial direction is detected. The number i of pixels of each ring in the case of division into the predetermined number of concentric ring bands is calculated according to the difference. A weighted mean processing part 13 performs a weighted mean operation according to the number i of pixels.

  • Patent number: 5995381
Abstract: A switching regulator with its less ripples, less switching loss, and low noise, which is capable of being miniaturized with high efficiency is provided. PWM control signals outputted from a terminal T6 of a pulse width control circuit IC1 are inputted to delay circuits DLa and DLb, respectively. The PWM control signal inputted to the delay circuit DLa, only a rise of which is delayed by a resistor Ra and a capacitor Ca, is applied to a gate of FET Q2 via a wave shaping circuit IC2. On the other hand, the PWM control signal inputted to a delay circuit DLb, only a fall of which is delayed by the resistor Rb and the capacitor Cb, is inverted via a wave shaping circuit IC2 and is applied to a gate of FET Q1 as an inverted control signal. Therefore, FETs Q1 and Q2 are turned ON/OFF in a predetermined period, and a pause period where FETs Q1 and Q2 are turned OFF is only a delayed constant period.

  • Patent number: 5506821
Abstract: A compact disc player is modified to convert it into a program repeater that plays preselected messages on a repetitive basis. Unused or used information channels in the CD player are employed. A sequence controller which is added to the conventional circuitry controls the operation of the conventional controller. When power is supplied to the CD player, a power monitor activates the sequence controller and the sequence controller then sends control signals to the controller, instructing it to activate the CD player and to place the CD player in its PLAY, AUTO REPEAT, or other preselected modes. The sequence controller also looks for a proprietary code placed on an unused information channel, and sends a deactivation signal to the sequence controller if the code is not found. An internal or external timer may be employed to provide power to the CD player at predetermined times so that the CD player operates as a program repeater entirely without human intervention.
