    Abstract: Pyridoxal analogues can be useful for treating B6 efficiency and related diseases; cardiovascular and related diseases; melanoma and related diseases; and symptoms thereof. One such analogue is a compound of the formula: or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, in which R1 is alkyl, alkenyl, in which alkyl or alkenyl can be interrupted by nitrogen, oxygen, or sulfur, and can be substituted at the terminal carbon by hydroxy, alkoxy, alkanoyloxy, alkanoyloxyaryl, alkoxyalkanoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, or dialkylcarbamoyloxy; alkoxy; dialkylamino; alkanoyloxy; alkanoyloxyaryl; alkoxyalkanoyl; alkoxycarbonyl; dialkylcarbamoyloxy; or aryl, aryloxy, arylthio, or aralkyl, in which aryl can be substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, amino, hydroxy, halo, nito, or alkanoyloxy. These analogues can be administered, either alone or concurrently with known medications, to treat the above-described diseases.

    Abstract: A reusable automatic lancet device having a removable finger rest with an opening for passing the lancet needle to prick a patient's finger below the finger rest. A pivoted arm which holds the lancet needle is locked in a cocked position before the finger rest is inserted and it is released in response to upward pressure of the patient's finger against the finger rest after its insertion.

    Abstract: A disposable automatic lancet which can be used only once. A lancet blade is on a spring arm in a housing, and the spring arm is cocked just before the lancing procedure by pulling a flexible line extending through an opening in the housing. After cocking, the pull line may be broken off so that it cannot be pulled again, thus limiting the lancet to use only once.

    Abstract: An apparatus for feeding hypodermic needles into corresponding recesses of a mold cavity in the bottom mold plate of a plastic injection molding machine. The bottom mold plate can be shifted from a molding position to a loading position at one side of the machine. At that side of the machine, a magazine holding two stacks of hypodermic needles is slidably adjustable horizontally with respect to a shuttle plate mounted on that side of the machine. The magazine at the bottom has lower and upper plates slidable respectively across the bottom and top of the shuttle plate. In one position of the magazine, openings in its upper bottom plate register with corresponding openings in the shuttle plate to pass individual needles by gravity into the shuttle plate.
