Patents Assigned to Mehler Vario System GmbH
  • Patent number: 5600922
Abstract: A construction for fastening a sheet of transparent plastic material, such as a window, in an opening of an awning has a separable slide fastener to keep the window in place, while two elongated sealing elements in the form of profile pipings, having a matching profile functioning as a snap-on mounting, are used to provide for a separable waterproof joint.

  • Patent number: 5061332
Abstract: For replacement of a rear window pan (2), which has become unusable, in the folding hood (1) of a convertible a replacement pane (6) is provided of which the encircling frame (7) is provided at its inner side with a hot-melt adhesive (9). Worked into the encircling frame (7) are electrical resistance heating wires (10) which can be subjected to current to soften the hot-melt adhesive (9) to enter an adhesive bond with a remaining edge region (5) of the old pane (2). Another pane replacement can be carried out simply in that the hot-melt adhesive (9) is again softened, the fitted replacement pane removed and replaced by a new one of the same type.

  • Patent number: 5040844
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for mounting a window in a flexible roof, and in particular the flexible folding roof of a vehicle and a method for making a releasable window connection in such a roof. The support band (6) of a zip fastener (3) is secured to the inner side of a roof cover (2) and the other support band (7) of the zip fastener (3) is secured to the inner side of the window pane (1). At least one peripheral strip (4) is provided between the window pane (1) and the roof cover (2) with the inner side of the peripheral strip (4) secured to the outer peripheral region of the window pane (1) by sewing and/or adhesion. An adhesive bond (5) consisting of a hot-melt adhesive is provided between the peripheral strip (4) and the roof cover (2). Electrical resistance heating conductors (10) are introduced into the hot-melt adhesive layer to which a voltage is applied to soften the hot-melt adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4971642
Abstract: Method of making a sandwich lightweight construction material in which double fabric constituting the two sides of the construction material is made from fibers or yarns which consist of at least one polymer consolidating under heat, and pile threads forming the core material in the double fabric are interposed between and connected to the two sides of the construction material. The double fabric may comprise high-temperature-resistant polymer, and may further comprise inorganic fibers or yarns. The double fabric may be pretempered at temperatures below the glass transition temperature of the amorphous material of the polymer. The double fabric is thereafter subject to a heat or temperature treatment so that the fabric consolidates. The sandwich lightweight construction material made according to the disclosure can be used in all cases where low weight and high mechanical stability are important, particularly in aircraft construction.
