Patent number: 11143959Abstract: A method for making three dimensional structures using photolithography and an adhesively bondable material is disclosed. A thiol-ene-epoxy (OSTE(?)) material undergoes a first reaction upon partial irradiation in a pattern to become a partially cross-linked polymer network. Non-cross-linked parts are dissolved in a solvent and removed. An initiator is added to activate the cross-linked polymer network so that it becomes adhesive and can then be covalently bound to another object to form an article. The method can be utilized to manufacture an article with a complicated three dimensional shape in an easy way.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2017Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: MERCENE LABS ABInventors: Carl Fredrik Carlborg, Tommy Haraldsson, Henrik Mikaelsson, Noriyuki Masuda

Patent number: 10040944Abstract: Modification of polymer surface properties is disclosed by using a method comprising providing a liquid curable monomer formulation comprising a surface-active compound so that the surface active component is attracted to or repelled from at least a specific part of a master surface and is fixed in the polymer article upon curing. The method is carried out in one step and is thus simple and inexpensive to carry out.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2015Date of Patent: August 7, 2018Assignee: MERCENE LABS ABInventors: Gaspard Pardon, Tommy Haraldsson, Wouter Van Der Wijngaart

Patent number: 9862857Abstract: An object with a coating comprising: a) covalent bonds formed by reaction of a thiol group and a carbon-carbon double bond, b) covalent bonds formed by reaction of a thiol group and epoxide group, c) covalent bonds formed by a reaction of a carbon-carbon double bond and an epoxide group, said coating comprising a first primer coating and a second coating, said coating comprising covalent bonds between said first and second coatings, said first primer coating comprising covalent cross links between compounds, in the first coating the fraction (r3=ta/tc) of unreacted thiol groups (ta) to thiol groups which have reacted to form a covalent bond (tc) does not exceed 0.11, wherein the half height peak width of tan delta does not exceed 30° C. Advantages of the dual cure composition is that excellent strength is obtained and that the second curing is slow compared to the first initial curing.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2016Date of Patent: January 9, 2018Assignee: Mercene Labs ABInventors: Carl Fredrik Carlborg, Tommy Haraldsson
