Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring a latent electrical image from a photosensitive image receptor to a dielectric or insulating image receptor where the photosensitive image receptor comprises a conductive base, a photoconductive layer arranged on it and on top of it a protective layer of transparent, insulating and non-photoconductive material. The protective layer surface is charged in the dark to a specific first potential; the photoconductive layer is image-exposed thereafter; the insulating image receptor is placed on the protective layer and a second, lower potential applied on the free surface of the insulating image receptor; and the insulating image receptor is separated from the protective layer of the photosensitive image receptor.

Abstract: A controller for trimming copy sheets from a material web in a copying machine is disclosed which utilizes a keypad for easy and error-free input of the widths of document margins without measuring them or converting them from one unit of measurement to another (e.g., metric to U.S. units). The keypad comprises an illuminated bar display one each for the leading and for the trailing document margin. The optical display value of the illuminated bar displays can be set, with the aid of document margin keys provided for that purpose, equal to the width of the document margins, with a digital value corresponding to the selected optical display value being generated and kept available for input to the controller.

Abstract: A photocopying machine is provided with a repeat mechanism. After the original material to be copied has left the exposure station a feed mechanism is provided by optionally returning the original material to the exposure station for making of a second copy. Two return mechanism paths are provided for originals of different length.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting sheet material with large surface area, particularly photo-printing paper in strips, has a mobile head which is drawn along a guide path in the cutting direction over a processing table for the sheet by means of a traction device driven by an electric motor. The cutting head consists of a flat deflector located slightly above the processing table, a cutter extending into a groove which forms the guide path in the processing table, and a coupling element for connection to the traction device. Significantly, the deflector simultaneously deflects a further sheet of material while cutting the desired sheet of material.

Abstract: Apparatus for controlling cut-off of paper from a web thereof fed through a blue print machine or the like, includes a main shaft driven by the drive structure of such machine, a threaded sleeve is mounted on said main shaft and is resiliently restrained against rotation. A plier-like pair of jaws is received in the threads of said sleeve for displacing said sleeve axially when it is clutched to said main shaft by an electromagnetic clutch. Holes are provided in said sleeve which are detected optically to operate in the generation of a control signal to effect cutting of said web.
