  • Patent number: 4055362
Abstract: In a rolling cart assembly, a smooth bumper assembly is provided that minimizes the likelihood of trapping dirt, grime, or the like. Corner bumper members having a smooth, uncrimped outer surface are provided with integral stiffening members and internally secured nuts so that the corner bumper members may be secured to a support frame by fasteners that extend in an outwardly direction from the inside surface of the support frame. Since the nuts are completely enclosed by the corner bumper members, the outside surface thereof are smooth and unbroken. Stiffening members may be co-molded or otherwise suitably formed integrally with and interiorly of the corner bumper members. Longitudinally extending side and end bumper strips are formed with an opening therein in order to receive V-shaped stiffening members.

  • Patent number: 4052081
Abstract: A cart is disclosed comprising a pair of laterally spaced apart, generally S-shaped side frame members that are joined by transversely oriented connecting rods. In one embodiment, a pair of connecting rods is provided for the upper, the middle, and the lower sections of each side frame member. In an alternative embodiment, only the upper and lower sections are provided with a pair of connecting rods while the middle section is provided with a single connecting rod. In the first mentioned embodiment, a platform is releasably mounted on each pair of connecting rods of each section of the side frame members, in order to support tote boxes, food trays, or the like. In a modification of the first embodiment, the connecting rods may be of double length so that a pair of platforms may be supported at each of the three levels with the pair of platforms at each level being in side-by-side relationship.

  • Patent number: 4004819
Abstract: An improved mobile truck for supporting a plurality of removable pans or trays includes a base having a plurality of rollable casters secured thereto. A pair of laterally spaced apart, generally U-shaped frame sections are secured to and extend upwardly from the sides of the base portion. Removable racks are mounted on each of the U-shaped side frame sections and include a first plurality of U-shaped rods that extend inwardly from the frame sections as well as in the direction between the legs of the U-shaped frame sections in order to support the pans or trays. A second plurality of U-shaped rods, similar in construction and orientation to the first plurality of U-shaped rods also extend inwardly from the frame sections and in the direction between the legs of the U-shaped frame sections for minimizing lateral movement of the pans or trays.

  • Patent number: 3999775
Abstract: A rollable cart that may be readily assembled from a knock-down condition using conventional fasteners and tools and with a minimum of skill is disclosed. The rollable cart includes a chassis having a pair of pivotable, relatively small front wheels and a pair of larger, rear wheels. A three-sided housing defined by a front, a rear and a side panel is mounted on the chassis. The fourth side is open so that articles may be placed into and taken out of the housing. Side edges of the front and rear panels and the side panel are provided with a plurality of vertically spaced apart L-shaped notches. A plurality of shelves each having front and rear pairs of downwardly opened notches is also provided. The shelves may be adjustably positioned in the housing by transverse front and rear bars on which the shelves rest. The ends of the transverse bars are received in the L-shaped notches of the front, rear and side panels, which L-shaped notches are in registry with one another.
