Abstract: A chair with a folding book holder includes a generally horizontal seat portion with an upper surface for supporting an occupant and an opposed lower surface. The folding book holder has a bottom portion and two support portions. Each support portion has a lower edge flexibly interconnected with the bottom portion and an upper edge flexibly interconnected with the chair. The bottom portion and support portions are foldable between a use position and a storage position, wherein in the use position the support portions extend generally downwardly from the seat portion and the bottom portion is spaced from the seat portion, and in the storage position the support portions and bottom portion are folded up against the seat portion.

Abstract: A ganging system for a chair includes a first support interconnected with the chair adjacent the first side of the chair and a first ganging member slidably supported by the support. The first ganging member has a retracted position, a fully extended position, and at least one intermediate partially extended position. A second support is interconnected with the chair adjacent the second side of the chair and a second ganging member is supported by the second support. The ganging members have ganging features that interconnect with the ganging feature of a like chair so as to interconnect the chairs.

Abstract: An elongated edging is provided for use in a method of upholstering a chair element with a perimeter edge. The edging has a pair of sides and a top portion, with a slot defined between the sides for receiving the perimeter edge of the chair element. A flange extends outwardly from the outward face of the side of the edging and defines a recess between an upper side of the flange and the outward face of the side of the edging. A portion of upholstery is attached to the chair element using fasteners which are positioned in the recess.

Abstract: A chair is designed to stack generally vertically with a number of like chairs. A chair frame has a pair of front legs and a pair of rear legs and a generally horizontal seat frame element that is supported by the front and rear legs. A generally horizontal stack frame element is interconnected with the front and rear legs of the chair frame and is spaced below the seat ring. A seat is supported by the chair frame. When the chair is stacked on a like chair, the stack frame element of the upper chair is disposed on and supported by the seat frame element of the lower chair.
