Patent number: 11921766Abstract: Described herein are technologies related to constructing supplemental content items that summarize electronic landing pages. A sequence to sequence model that is configured to construct supplemental content items is trained based upon a corpus of electronic landing pages and supplemental content items that have been constructed by domain experts, wherein each landing page has a respective supplemental content item assigned thereto. The sequence to sequence model is additionally trained using self critical sequence training, where estimated click through rates of supplemental content items generated by the sequence to sequence model are employed to train the sequence to sequence model.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: MICRSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Keng-hao Chang, Ruofei Zhang, John Weston Hughes

Patent number: 11734559Abstract: To provide automated categorization of structured textual content individual nodes of textual content, from a document object model encapsulation of the structured textual content, have a multidimensional vector associated with them, where the values of the various dimensions of the multidimensional vector are based on the textual content in the corresponding node, the visual features applied or associated with the textual content of the corresponding node, and positional information of the textual content of the corresponding node. The multidimensional vectors are input to a neighbor-imbuing neural network. The enhanced multidimensional vectors output by the neighbor-imbuing neural network are then be provided to a categorization neural network. The resulting output can be in the form of multidimensional vectors whose dimensionality is proportional to categories into which the structured textual content is to be categorized. A weighted merge takes into account multiple nodes that are grouped together.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2020Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: MICRSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Charumathi Lakshmanan, Ye Li, Arnold Overwijk, Chenyan Xiong, Jiguang Shen, Junaid Ahmed, Jiaming Guo

Patent number: 10656693Abstract: Power management contracts for accessory devices are described. In one or more implementations, a power management contract is established for a system including a host computing device and an accessory device based at least in part upon power exchange conditions observed for the system. The power management contracts define operating constraints for power exchange between components of the system, including at least a power exchange direction and current limits. The host computing device and accessory devices are each configured to renegotiate the power management contract to dynamically change operating constraints in “real-time.” Additionally, different power management contracts may be associated with identifying data corresponding to different types of accessory devices.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2018Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: Micrsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Gene Robert Obie, Heng Huang, Yi He, Duane Martin Evans

Patent number: 10199669Abstract: A fuel cell power controller tracks load current and fuel cell output voltage, and alerts on excessive fuel cell ramp rate, so another power source can supplement the fuel cell and/or the load can be reduced. A power engineering process makes efficient use of available fuel cell power by ramping up power flow rapidly when power is available, while respecting the ramp rate and other power limitations of the fuel cell and safety limitations of the load. Power flow decreases after an alert indicating an electrical output limitation of the fuel cell. Permitted power flow increases in response to a power demand increase (actual or requested) from the load in the absence of the alert. Power flow may increase or decrease in a fixed amount, a proportional amount, or per a sequence. A power controller relay may trip open on a low fuel cell output voltage or high load current.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2016Date of Patent: February 5, 2019Assignee: Micrsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Di Wang, Sriram Govindan, John J. Patent number: 10033210Abstract: A power supply is described herein which provides power to a load, such as a load including one or more computing devices. The power supply uses a slow-response power source (such as a fuel-driven mechanism) to handle a slow-moving component of the demand level presented by the load, and uses a fast-response power source (such as a battery or a capacitor, etc.) to handle a fast-moving component of the demand level. By virtue of this approach, the power supply can manage the load level as it appears to the slow-response power source, allowing, in turn, the slow-response power source to service even fast-changing loads—a task which it could not otherwise perform due to its native limitations.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2014Date of Patent: July 24, 2018Assignee: Micrsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Eric C.
