    Abstract: An inlet valve is provided for a pneumatic tool. The pneumatic tool defines a space and a passageway communicated with the space. The inlet valve includes a housing and a plunger. The housing is movable in the space between a first position where it blocks the space from the passageway and a second position where it allows the communication between the space and the passageway. The housing defines an inlet and an outlet. The plunger is inserted through the outlet and movable in the pneumatic tool between a first position, a second position and a third position. An end of the plunger is put in the housing for pushing the housing, from inside, to the second position as the plunger is in the third position. The plunger includes an annular flange put in the housing for blocking the outlet as the plunger is in the first position and for opening the outlet as the plunger is in the second position.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tool is operable with a single hand. The pneumatic tool includes a shell defining a first chamber and a second chamber. The second chamber includes intake and outlet apertures in communication with the first chamber. A cylinder is in the first chamber. A controller is movable in the second chamber between a first position and a second position. The controller includes a first groove and a second groove. In the first position, the first groove communicates with the intake aperture for directing pressurized air to drive the cylinder in a first direction. In the second position, the second groove communicates with the intake aperture for directing pressurized air to drive the cylinder in a second direction. A cover seals the first chamber and the second chamber. The cover defines an opening through which the controller extends from the second chamber so that the controller can be moved.

The cylinder defines an axial bore, two grooves on an external side and two groups of intakes in communication with the axial bore. The steel plates are located against the cylinder so that the cutouts are in communication with the grooves. Each of the covers defines an eccentric opening and two grooves extending on a side to an external edge. Pressurized air drives a rotor in the cylinder in a direction while entering the cylinder through the first port and leaving the cylinder through the third port and in an opposite direction while entering the cylinder through the second port and leaving the cylinder through the third port. A cover connected to the shell defines an aperture communicated with the second space, a first channel communicated with the third space on one hand and the first port on the other hand, a second channel communicated with the fourth space on one hand and the second port on the other hand. A rotational switch extends into the second space through the aperture and defines two cutouts.

The diameter of the rod is smaller than that of the central aperture of the ring in order to allow pressurized air to travel through the central aperture of the ring as the controller is in the second position.
