  • Patent number: 11857976
Abstract: A system for positioning a cartridge is disclosed. The system has a drive rod with a body having a first axis and a groove formed in the body. The groove has a first portion that is not perpendicular to the first axis and a second portion that is perpendicular to the first axis. The system also includes a collar that coupled to the drive rod. The collar has an element configured to engage the groove. Rotation of the drive rod with respect to the collar while the element is engaged in the first portion of the thread causes the collar to move with respect to the first axis. Rotation of the drive rod with respect to the collar while the element is engaged with the second portion of the thread causes the collar to remain stationary with respect to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 10162166
Abstract: The present disclosure provides devices, systems and methods for the acquisition and display of captured and/or saved slide images of a sample. In particular embodiments, the images are displayed on a portable computer attached to a removable device configured to hold a slide of the sample. The device is aligned with the portable computer so that the displayed sample image is overlaid with the sample being held by the device. In exemplary embodiments, the displayed image is used as a template for dissection of the sample being held by the device.

  • Patent number: 10119901
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for acquiring and displaying whole slide images of crystalline samples. In some embodiments, a slide is placed upon an imaging device with a motorized stage, and a digital imaging device, and all parts of the specimen are imaged and reassembled to display the entire slide as a single image, displayable on PC and transmittable across local and wide area networks and the Internet, then facilitating the acquisition multiple whole slide images of the slide under crossed polarizers rotated at different angles, with each image displayed to the viewer at the angle of polarization.

  • Patent number: 9883093
Abstract: A method for processing, saving and viewing a digital image of a microscope slide includes inserting a microscope slide into a digital slide scanner connected to an acquisition computer. A pre-scan formed from a plurality of image tiles uploaded to a network server while the pre-scan is being generated. The network server analyzes the image tiles in realtime to identify an area of interest. The acquisition computer generates a high magnification local scan of the area of interest. The local scan is formed from a plurality of local image tiles that are uploaded to the network server while the local scan is being generated. Each local image tile is viewable by a client computer in communication with the computer network while the plurality of local image tiles is being uploaded. A raw final image is then saved on the network server independent of the acquisition computer.
