Patent number: 8167480Abstract: A device for cutting/shearing in a process vessel (1) product clusters and/or materials (3) into smaller particles and dispersing them in a liquid product bulk (4) or for mixing in the process vessel liquid products with each other that are difficult to mix. The device has an electric motor (13) arranged out-side the process vessel and, driven by the same by magneto drive, a processing unit (12) positioned inside the process vessel. The processing unit comprises a stationary inner part (14) and, rotatable about this, an outer part (15), the inner and outer parts having the shape of substantially concentric rings (16, 17) arranged with a close fit to each other and having a plurality of through slotshaped shearing recesses (18) opposing each other.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2010Date of Patent: May 1, 2012Assignee: Millipore ABInventors: Lennart Myhrberg, Cristian Eriksson

Patent number: 8029023Abstract: A method and a device are provided for contamination-free and/or sterile sealing between two interconnectable connecting elements having opposing openings. Interconnection allows transfer of a fluid between the openings. Sealing elements are arranged on the connecting elements around the openings, and protective films are provided, covering the sealing elements and the openings and adapted to be removed in the final interconnection. The sealing elements are each provided with at least one recess which extends wholly or partly around the associated opening and receives a gas. In use the sealing elements are moved into engagement with each other, interleaved with the protective films, to reduce the volume of the recesses and, thus, increase the pressure of the gas therein. During removal of the protective films, the gas flows out of the recesses to the environment to prevent penetration of contamination into the openings.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2006Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: Millipore ABInventors: Nils Årthun, Sten Johansson, Lennart Myhrberg, Håkan Samuelsson

Publication number: 20110197426Abstract: An appliance for sealing elastic hoses with a sleeve, which is plastically deformable and slipped onto the hose, has two jaws which are movable towards and away from each other. One jaw has two straight bars which project towards the other jaw and extend transversely of the sleeve to make two transverse indentations in the sleeve and the hose when the jaws are moving towards each other. The same jaw has a cutting edge which projects towards the other jaw and is directed transversely of the sleeve, the cutting edge making a substantially transverse cutting indication in the sleeve and the hose when the jaws are moving towards each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2011Publication date: August 18, 2011Applicant: MILLIPORE ABInventor: Nils Arthun

Patent number: 7980531Abstract: A device in a valve (1) includes a valve housing (2) with at least a first (3) and a second (4) fluid port. A closure element (5) including a sealing portion (15) and diaphragm (30) is arranged in the valve housing (2). The sealing portion (15) is movable between an open position and a closed position. The closure element (5) and valve housing (2) form a flow passage (11) which communicates with the fluid ports when the sealing portion (15) leaves the closed position. A second sealing portion (14) is arranged in contact with a support portion (25) of the valve housing (2). An abutment element (16) is arranged in contact with the second sealing portion (14). The abutment element (16) transmits a force via the second sealing portion (14) toward the support portion (25) to provide a seal. The force is at least partly exerted by a spring element.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2008Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Millipore ABInventors: Lennart Myhrberg, Håkan Samuelsson, Bertil Wejrot

Patent number: 7922211Abstract: A method and a device are provided for interconnecting, sealed against contamination, the ends of tubes by two cooperating connecting components, each having an inlet and an outlet for connection to each other. The connecting components each have a connecting plane, into which the outlets open, each covered by a protective component, and which are movable into engagement with each other with the outlets facing each other. A locking element, which is slidably arranged on one connecting component, is, in a controlled manner and without interruption of the sliding movement, movable onto the other connecting component to a distinct end position. The protective components are removable by means of the locking element when this is moved, and the outlets are sealingly pressable against each other. The locking element is prevented from moving until a predetermined force is applied in the moving direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2006Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: Millipore ABInventors: Nils Årthun, Sten Johansson, Lennart Myhrberg, Håkan Samuelsson

Patent number: 7597683Abstract: A syringe for a fluid comprises a cylinder, a piston portion arranged in the cylinder and slidable on its inside, and an operating means connected to the piston portion for sliding thereof. The operating means projects from a first end of the cylinder and the cylinder has at a second end an inlet and outlet part for said fluid. Moreover a sealing means is connected in a contamination-free manner to the cylinder in the area of the first end thereof and extends into the cylinder to isolate, sealed against contamination, the inside of the cylinder from the environment.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2006Date of Patent: October 6, 2009Assignee: Millipore ABInventors: Lennart Myhrberg, Håkan Samuelsson
