  • Patent number: 6246137
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a spindle motor of high accuracy of rotation irrespective of the temperature differential for driving the hard disk or disks of the hard disk drive device. A spindle motor including a shaft secured on a base to extend vertically therefrom, and a rotor hub journalled rotatably around the shaft through a plurality of anti-friction bearings each of which has outer and inner races and rotational bodies disposed between races, characterized in that a cylindrical sleeve having a through bore is disposed between outer peripheral surface of each anti-friction bearing and an inner peripheral surface of a central bore provided through the rotor hub, the sleeve and the outer races of the anti-friction bearings are made of the ferrous metal material of substantially the same coefficient of expansion, and the inner races of anti-friction bearings and the shaft are also made of the ferrous metal material of substantially the same coefficient of expansion.

  • Patent number: 5373784
Abstract: In the type-wheel resetting mechanism for the downsized printer: a resetting cam portion (13) is provided in a drive gear (12) to save the number of components and to eliminate assembly and adjusting operations of the cam portion (13) and the drive gear (12); detected portions (25, 25a) for type selection and motor stop operations are provided separately from the drive gear (12); and, a sensor (26) for detecting the detected portions (25, 25a) is provided in the vicinity of the drive gear (12) to save the number of components, which simplifies the construction of the type-wheel resetting mechanism and improves the type-wheel resetting mechanism in reliability.

  • Patent number: 5336955
Abstract: In an outer-rotor type spindle motor: a front-end portion of a spindle (4) forming a stationary member passes through a central portion of a hub plate (7c) (onto which a disk (11) is loaded) of a rotor yoke (6) forming a rotating member; and, the front-end portion having been passed through the central portion of the hub plate (7a) of the rotor yoke (6) forms a head portion (4c) which is formed into a semispherical shape having been obliquely cut.
