Patents Assigned to Mitchell S.A.
  • Patent number: 4256271
Abstract: A fixed spool fishing reel which comprises a rotatable drum with at least one support member mounted thereon spaced from the outer periphery of the drum, a fixed spool for holding line and having a skirt which surrounds the drum, and a pick-up arm pivotally mounted on the support member for movement between an open and a closed position. A release device is provided for moving the pick-up arm from the open to the closed position when the drum is rotated. The release device is cooperable with a stationary stop behind the spool and comprises a double lever constituted by a shaft transverse to the rotational axis of the drum, the shaft having first and second arms. The first arm is cooperable with the stationary stop and the second arm is pivotally connected to one end of a connecting rod, the other end of which is pivotally associated with the pick-up arm.

  • Patent number: 4253618
Abstract: A fishing reel consists of a crank which can be folded, when the reel is not in use for fishing. The crank consists of a hub which supports a lateral operating lever. The hub consists of two parts which are joined one on the other for relative pivoting around a shaft arranged perpendicularly to the hub and in a plane which contains the lever. These parts are held against relative pivoting by a sliding bolt which can be moved in directions along the lever. A spring tends to keep a profiled part of the bolt in engagement with a part of the combined profile provided in the part of the hub. A push rod, which forms part of the bolt, can be actuated in a direction in order to unlock the bolt, which makes it possible to fold the crank around the shaft. The reel can be used in all cases where it is desired that a fishing reel occupy as small as possible a volume when not in use for fishing.

  • Patent number: 4245797
Abstract: A fishing reel of the type in which the spool does not rotate, comprises a drum rotatable about the axis of the spool. A support arm projects forwardly from the outer end of each of two securing arms projecting from opposite sides of the drum. Pick-up arms pivotally mounted on the support arms are interconnected by a pick-up bar and are spring biased to move angularly from "open" to "closed" position. On one of the support arms, a spring-pressed longitudinally slidable plunger is engageable in a notch of the respective pick-up arm to lock it in "open" position. In the respective securing arm there is a shaft having on its inner end an arm that is engageable with a fixed stop, when the drum is rotated, to rock the shaft. A pin and slot connection on the outer end of the shaft connects the shaft with the plunger so as to withdraw the plunger from the notch of the respective pick-up arm and thereby release the pick-up arms for movement by the spring bias to "closed" position.

  • Patent number: 4201355
Abstract: A fishing reel which has a control device for operating an audible warning device. The control device comprises an operating member located externally of the reel and rotatably mounted thereon by means of an extension of the operating member. The operating member co-operates by means of a profiled extension thereof with an elongate resilient member which can co-operate with the audible warning device. The elongate resilient member is supported within the reel by a part of the member fitted freely and parallel to the axis of said extension on a support on the inner side of the wall. The profiled extension of the operating member is integral with the extension to the operating member and has a terminal radial flange which extends over at least a portion of the periphery of the profiled part. The flange is in facing relationship with a first part of the resilient member, which first part is shaped to co-operate with the radial flange.

  • Patent number: 3966140
Abstract: In a fishing reel, axial displacement of a shaft to modify a drag adjustment is provided by angularly displacing a control member having an integral actuating lever to axially displace an angularly fixed member having a profile cooperating with the control member. Both said control member and the member of complementary profile are secured to the shaft end by a single removable screw member, which is axially but not angularly fixed to the member of complementary profile to enable removal and replacement of the three members as a unit.

  • Patent number: 3945658
Abstract: A safety ski binding has a heel grip pivoted at an end of a removable sole plate. A flexible cable tensioned by a spring winder within the sole plate serves to hold the sole plate on the ski, and simultaneously biases the heel grip to an operative boot-gripping position.

  • Patent number: 3930660
Abstract: A ski binding includes a soleplate, integral with a boot sole or adapted to carry a boot, to which a plate is hinged at one end about a transverse axis, this plate having an opening with a bevelled edge which passes about and comes to jam under the head of a pin fixed perpendicular to the ski. A spring urged locking member acts on the other end of the soleplate to releasably hold said other end against pivoting about said transverse axis or about said pin, and to releasably jam said opening under the head of the pin. A fixture can be provided for locking said plate on the ski whereby, when said locking member is disengaged, the soleplate is freed for pivoting about the transverse axis e.g. during ski touring.
