  • Patent number: 11585914
Abstract: A system and method for generating communications waveforms that can operate in congested frequency spaces and in applications in which the receiver is moving with respect to the transmitter is provided. In one or more examples, each symbol to be encoded and transmitted is converted into a sequence of frequency chirps. The sequence of frequencies used by the sequence of chirps is based on the symbol that is to be encoded. Each chirp can have a center frequency, and the frequency can be swept over the duration of the chirp. In this way each chirp can have a varying frequency over the duration of the chirp, but the phase of the chirp can be continuous throughout the duration of the chirp. The bandwidth and sweep rate of the chirp can be based on the expected maximum velocity of the receiver and the transmitter relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 11558107
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for utilizing parallel links to improve sub-network availability and latency performance for ATC traffic. An embodiment operates by receiving a generated message. The type of the generated message is determined, where the type is an air traffic control message or a non-air traffic control message. Based on the type of message, communication links are selected, where the communication links include parallel transmission links or a serial link. The method continues by copying the generated message and transmitting the copied message using the selected communication links. The method waits to receive an acknowledgement indicating receipt of the transmitted message. Upon identifying an acknowledgement, any of the copied messages not yet retransmitted are deleted.

  • Patent number: 11528013
Abstract: Provided herein is an implementation of a finite impulse response (FIR) filter that uses a distributed arithmetic architecture. In one or more example, a data sample with multiple bits is processed through a plurality of bit-level multiply and accumulate circuits, wherein each bit of the data sample corresponds to a bit of the data sample. The output of each bit-level multiply and accumulate circuit can then be shifted by an appropriate amount based on the bit placement of the bit of the data sample that corresponds to the bit-level multiply and accumulate circuit. After each output is shifted by the appropriate amount, the outputs can be aggregated to form a final FIR filter result.

  • Patent number: 11522903
Abstract: Described are systems and methods for evaluating cyber effects in a cyber-physical system (CPS). In some embodiments, a simulation model of the CPS is built and includes an attacked component set and an evaluated component set. A control component is inserted into the simulation model. One or more direct connections between the attacked component set and the evaluated component set are disconnected. One or more indirect connections are identified and then disconnected from the simulation model with disconnected direct connections. The one or more direct connections and indirect connections are routed through the control component. A cyber-attack on the attacked component set can be simulated by configuring the control component to control outputs transmitted via a routed connection, the routed connection being one of the routed direct or indirect connections. The simulated components of the simulation model can be progressively and iteratively replaced by corresponding components from the CPS.

Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for simulating translated aircraft terminal procedures and comparing them to detect for errors in the translation of the terminal procedures. In one or more examples, one or more regulatory agency's routes and procedures for a given airspace are translated into one or more instructions that can be read by a flight computer that is configured to assist a pilot during a flight to adhere to those agency's procedures. A given terminal procedure can have multiple translations associated with it. In order to determine the accuracy of the translation process, in one or more examples, the translations provided by those vendors can be simulated by a computer that is configured to simulate an aircraft's traversal of an airspace using the instructions loaded on to the flight computer. The data generated by the simulations can be used to compare the translations to detect errors in the translation process.

  • Patent number: 11503024
Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for authenticating controlled area network (CAN) transmissions using physical layer characteristics. In one or more examples, a device that is configured to authenticate CAN transmissions can be connected to an existing CAN. The device can be configured to undergo a training phase in which average transition waveforms of one or more electronic control units (ECUs) are created. When the device is in operation, each CAN transmission received by the device can be compared against the average transition waveforms to determine the ECU that is most likely to have sent the transmission. In one or more examples, the identified most likely ECU can be compared against the ECU identified by an arbitration ID of the transmission. If there is a mismatch then in one or more examples the device can alert to the possibility of a suspicious ECU transmission.

Abstract: Systems and methods for estimating magnetic susceptibility of a patient through continuous motion in an MRI scanner are provided herein. In one or more examples, during the collection of data, the patient can be instructed to move their head or other part of the body in a continuous manner and for a fixed duration of time. During the fixed duration of time, magnitude a data from the RF signal can be received by one or more RF coils can be collected. The received and undersampled magnitude data can be converted to phase data which can then be converted to magnetic susceptibility. Thus magnetic susceptibility can be determined while allowing for continuous motion during the MRI scan, which can be more comfortable and feasible for the patient in contrast to techniques that require the patient to hold their body at a particular orientation in the scanner for a fixed duration of time.
