    Abstract: A method and a system for fault detection and removal in a distributed computing system, implemented as a permissioned blockchain network, is disclosed. The method fault detection comprising compiling and executing a smart contract common for all nodes of the permissioned blockchain network. The smart contract is configured to perform at least one operation from a series of operations comprising: (1) appending transactions including logs indicative of exchanging of messages between the nodes of permissioned blockchain network, (2) detecting malicious behavior of a node in reaching a consensus, and (3) revoking the access of the node upon detecting the malicious behavior. Further, once malicious behavior (and corresponding malicious node) is detected, a consensus is reached between the networked computers of the permissioned blockchain network, by executing a distributed computing program.

The computer-executed method is provided on an IEEE 802.15.4 device, and causes a processor of the IEEE 802.15.4 device to perform steps that include estimating a severity of IEEE 802.11 interference based on a severity estimation metric, selecting the ACS-CSMA/CA control program based on the estimated severity.

    Abstract: A system for controlling an operation of a machine for performing a task is disclosed. The system submits a sequence of control inputs to the machine and receives a feedback signal. The system further determines, at each control step, a current control input for controlling the machine based on the feedback signal including a current measurement of a current state of the system by applying a control policy transforming the current measurement into the current control input based on current values of control parameters in a set of control parameters of a feedback controller. Furthermore, the system may iteratively update a state of the feedback controller defined by the control parameters using a prediction model predicting values of the control parameters and a measurement model updating the predicted values to produce the current values of the control parameters that explain the sequence of measurements according to a performance objective.

    Abstract: This invention relates generally to speech processing and more particularly to end-to-end automatic speech recognition (ASR) that utilizes long contextual information. Some embodiments of the invention provide a system and a method for end-to-end ASR suitable for recognizing long audio recordings such as lecture and conversational speeches. This disclosure includes a Transformer-based ASR system that utilizes contextual information, wherein the Transformer accepts multiple utterances at the same time and predicts transcript for the last utterance. This is repeated in a sliding-window fashion with one-utterance shifts to recognize the entire recording. In addition, some embodiments of the present invention may use acoustic and/or text features obtained from only the previous utterances spoken by the same speaker as the last utterance when the long audio recording includes multiple speakers.

    Abstract: A system and method for detecting anomalous sound are disclosed. The method includes receiving a spectrogram of an audio signal with elements defined by values in a time-frequency domain of the spectrogram. Each of the values corresponds to an element of the spectrogram that is identified by a coordinate in the time-frequency domain. The time-frequency domain of the spectrogram is partitioned into a context region and a target region. The context region and the target region are processed by a neural network using an attentive neural process to recover values of the spectrogram for elements with coordinates in the target region. The recovered values of the elements of the target region are compared with values of elements of the partitioned target region. An anomaly score is determined based on the comparison. The anomaly score is used for performing a control action.

An incident wavefield is transmitted into the object occupying a background domain embedding the object. The incident wavefield is scattered into multiple scattered wavefield by the object. The incident and scattered wavefields are measured as a total wavefield. The total wavefield propagates through a computational domain and a residual domain in the background domain that are defined by cross-domain and residual measurement operators. The total wavefield is used for the image reconstruction. The image is reconstructed by solving an optimization problem corresponding to the computational domain. The optimization problem is solved iteratively to minimize a difference between the total wavefield and a wavefield synthesized using a measurement operator and a Green's function operator from the reconstructed image.

    Abstract: Stochastic nonlinear model predictive control (SNMPC) allows to directly take uncertainty of the dynamics and/or of the system's environment into account, e.g., by including probabilistic chance constraints. However, SNMPC requires the approximate computation of the probability distributions for the state variables that are propagated through the nonlinear system dynamics. This invention proposes the use of Gaussian-assumed density filters (ADF) to perform high-accuracy propagation of mean and covariance information of the state variables through the nonlinear system dynamics, resulting in a tractable SNMPC approach with improved control performance. In addition, the use of a matrix factorization for the covariance matrix variables in the constrained optimal control problem (OCP) formulation guarantees positive definiteness of the full trajectory of covariance matrices in each iteration of any optimization algorithm.

The transformation of the image comprises first transforming the image, also referred to as an intensity image, into a layered distance field (DF) image comprising an ordered sequence of multiple layers. Each layer in the ordered sequence is associated with a DF procedure and a set of rules for mapping the DF values to intensity values of the respective layer. The result of applying the DF procedures to each location in the intensity image is a transformed intensity image, which is of high definition and high resolution. The application of the DF procedures is governed by a stopping criteria based on error values between the intensity image and a reconstructed intensity image.
