  • Patent number: 5743103
Abstract: An air conditioner is provided and includes a louver which is provided at a blowing opening. The louver is moved rotationally from above to below or from below to above by a variable speed mechanism. At the time of heating, a louver rotational speed while the louver is moved rotationally in a range of a blowing angle .theta..sub.1 is set to a speed .omega..sub.1 within a vortices generation area relative to a wind velocity of blowing air flow. Also, a louver rotational speed while the louver is moved rotationally over the blowing angle .theta..sub.1 is set to a speed .omega..sub.1 within a vortices non-generation area relative to the wind velocity of blowing air flow. Thereby, at the time of heating, downward reach of warm air in a room while the louver is moved rotationally below the predetermined blowing angle and a temperature diffusibility while the louver is moved rotationally above the predetermined blowing angle are improved.

  • Patent number: 5692936
Abstract: A moisture-permeable waterproof fabric comprising a textile fabric and, provided on at least one surface of said textile fabric, a resin film comprising a polyurethane resin produced by reacting an isocyanate with a polyol and a chain extender and having a glass transition temperature in the range of from -20.degree. to 20.degree. C. and an ethylene oxide unit content of at least 7.0 mol/kg. The moisture-permeable waterproof fabric is produced by coating at least one surface of a textile fabric with a solution of a resin in a polar organic solvent, the resin comprising a polyurethane resin, and subjecting the coating to wet solidification in a coagulation bath to form a film, or coating a release paper with a solution of a resin in a polar organic solvent, the resin comprising a polyurethane resin, to form a resin film and adhering the resin film on at least one surface of a textile fabric.

  • Patent number: 4869310
Abstract: The known belt type continuous casting machine is improved in that a pair of guides for side dam block groups are disposed at opposite sides, in the widthwise direction, of a cast piece. Each of the guides includes guide beams disposed in two parallel rows displaced in direction of the thickness of the cast piece. Each of a pair of side dams which are movable in synchronism with feeding of the cast piece is formed of a side dam block group in one row. Each of the side dam block groups is divided into two sub-groups, each of which has a length longer than a contact length between the side dam block group and the cast piece and each of which is guided by a separate guide beam.

  • Patent number: 4606111
Abstract: An undetachable flange joint characterized in that it essentially comprises a pair of semicircular clamp halves of which cross-sectional configuration is designed to tightly fit the outer configuration of a pair of tapered flanges to be joined, said clamp halves having curled portions at their both ends, and two annular links adapted to be engaged around the respective curled end portions so that the pair of flanges are tightly joined to one another by firmly holding the whole flanges by means of the clamp halves under wedging force.

  • Patent number: 4533531
Abstract: An exhaust fume desulfurization process is disclosed which comprises the steps of contacting an off-gas containing SO.sub.2 with a slurry containing calcium and manganese compounds, introducing a gas containing oxygen into the slurry, detecting the amount of the absorption of oxygen by the slurry, and regulating the amount of manganese present in the slurry based upon the amount of oxygen absorbed by the slurry. The desulfurization rate is correspondingly adjusted and the desulfurized gas product is recovered.

  • Patent number: 4487050
Abstract: In a rolling mill in which at least one of paired work rolls for rolling metal strips is formed to have a small diameter and is backed up by a pair of first intermediate rolls which in turn are backed up either directly by a plurality of backup rolls or indirectly by a plurality of backup rolls through second intermediate rolls, the rolling mill of the present invention is characterized in that a bearing case containing bearings is provided to each end of the small diameter work roll and to each end of the pair of first intermediate rolls supporting the small diameter work roll so that these rolls are supported on the bearing cases through bearings, and hydraulic cylinders are provided for applying independent roll bending forces to the work roll bearing cases and the intermediate roll bearing cases.
