Abstract: An oral care formulation includes an aqueous mixture of a water-soluble silver salt, a fluoride reagent, and a water-soluble polymer, the aqueous mixture having a viscosity ranging from about 1000 cPs to about 35,000 cPs. A method of using a fluoride and silver containing formulation, such as silver diamine fluoride, in dental applications includes providing a substrate having the formulation in a solid or semi-solid state on a portion of the substrate, positioning the substrate adjacent to dental areas, and allowing the portion of the substrate with the formulation to contact the dental areas. A disposable applicator for applying the formulation is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of forming a stabilized calcium phosphate moiety for use in dental or biomedical applications includes providing a solution or dispersion including a calcium salt and reacting an organic phosphate having a polymerizable methacrylate or vinyl group with the solution or dispersion in order to form the calcium phosphate moiety having at least one pendant polymerizable group and at least one organic functional group, which may be the same group. A polymerizable composite system having a stabilized calcium phosphate formed according to the method is also provided.

Abstract: An adhesive composition for bonding to bone and bone-like structures includes a polymerizable, multifunctional acidic monomer having a concentration ranging from about 5% to about 45% by weight of the adhesive composition, one or more multifunctional monomers with one or more ethylenically unsaturated groups having a concentration ranging from about 20% to about 60% by weight of the adhesive composition, an organically modified calcium phosphate salt with one or more pendant polymerizable groups having a concentration ranging from about 1% to about 50% by weight of the adhesive composition, and a polymerization initiator system. A method of forming the adhesive composition is also provided.
