Abstract: A two-post vehicle lift system includes first and second posts extending longitudinally upwards from a floor. First and second carriages are slidably engaged with the first and second posts respectively. First and second swing arms are pivotally attached to the first carriage. Third and fourth swing arms are pivotally attached to the second carriage. First, second, third and fourth swing arm platforms are engaged with the first, second, third and fourth swing arms respectively. Each swing arm platform is positionable radially relative to its engaged swing arm. An adapter system is engageable with at least one swing arm platform and operable to be positioned to engage and lift a material handling vehicle. The adapter system includes one of a low profile adapter with a height adjustment mechanism, a low profile adapter with an outrigger arm capture mechanism, and an extended profile adapter with an outrigger arm capture mechanism.

The ground care maintenance system includes a two post pivoting arm lift and a lift adapter configured to couple to the two post pivoting arm lift. The lift adapter including four arm covers and two adapter members each coupled to two arm covers. The method for converting a vehicle lift to a ground care maintenance or turf lift and the turf lift back to the vehicle lift are also disclosed.

Abstract: A pad adapter for vehicle lifts includes a pad releasably attachable to the pivoting arms of a pivoting arm lift to enable the pivoting arm lift to be used as a frame engaging pad lift. The pad adapter includes a platform for engaging the frame of the vehicle and may include pockets for receiving the pivoting arms of the lift, pins for releasebly engaging the pivoting arms, and ramps to facilitate driving a vehicle over the pad adapter.

Abstract: Apparatus for use in lifting a vehicle from a substantially flat surface. The apparatus includes a pair of levers, each having a first lever and a second lever pivotally joined together cris-crossing one another and operable in a scissor-like motion between a collapsed position and a lifted position. A lifting platform is operatively coupled to the levers for supporting a vehicle thereon. A lifting mechanism is operably coupled to the levers for operating them between the collapsed position and the lifted position and thereby raising and lowering the lifting platform. An extendable, one-way incrementally lockable safety strut is pivotally connected to the first lever at a point along its upper portion and the other end of the safety strut is pivotally connected to the second lever at a point along its lower portion.

Abstract: A wheel engaging vehicle lift for raising a vehicle relative to the ground and for supporting the vehicle in a raised position includes first and second support columns standing vertically upward from the ground. A first carriage is movably attached to the first support column and a second carriage is movably attached to the second support column. A first pair of arms extend away from the first carriage and a second pair of arms extend away from the second carriage, wherein the first and second pairs of arms are each rotatable about a substantially vertical axis proximate to a first end of the arms. A wheel engaging adapter may be removably secured proximate to an opposite end of the first and second pairs of arms, wherein the adapters are each rotatable about a substantially vertical axis proximate to the second end. The structure of the invention enables a conventional two-post frame engaging lift to be easily and readily converted into a two-post wheel engaging vehicle lift, and vice versa.
