Abstract: A method and apparatus for a pull tab opening mechanism utilized in container systems for easy opening and convenient manufacturing. The method and apparatus therefor comprising a base paper stock in which a pour hole is die cut. The paper stock being laminated with layers of aluminum foil and polyethylene which cover the die cut pour hole. A pull tab system adhered to the top of the laminated structure advantageously provides an opening mechanism which does not compromise the integrity of the container and is easily manufactured.

Abstract: This invention supplies an adhesive construction for insulation, preferably pipe insulation, having at least one coat of adhesive on at least a part of a face of the slit with a release member to keep the adhesive from adhering to the second face and a method of making the same article.

Abstract: A sandwich type composite adhesive construction in a simpler form, composed of a central release liner having a permanent adhesive layer on one side thereof and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on the other side preferably separated therefrom by a release coat or member, and at least one release member on said adhesive layers but in a more complex form containing additional carrier layers or strengthening members including at least one or more support layers between two layers of permanent pressure sensitive adhesive. This adhesive construction provides a product, such as a pipe insulation that has unique properties and is cost effective.

Abstract: A seal splice or tape comprising a carrier having an adhesive construction on the opposite side thereof. The adhesive construction comprises an adhesive coating on the carrier layer with a release agent and liner thereover. The adhesive coat extending from end to end on one side and only part way inboard on the opposite side. In a preferred embodiment, the carrier is scored near the end having adhesive on both ends to permit both layers of the liner to be removed essentially simultaneously or otherwise.

Abstract: A composite pressure sensitive adhesive construction contains a central release liner, a layer of an adhesive on each side thereof, and an exterior release liner on at least one of the adhesive layers. The central release liner and the exterior release liner contain release coatings on surfaces thereof which contact the adhesive layer. The composite construction may be made up in the form of a roll for easy dispensing or in the form of a precut tape. The pressure sensitive adhesive construction is generally useful for making any type of sealing connection wherein an initial releasable connection is desired. For example, the pressure sensitive adhesive construction may be utilized in sealing pipe insulating jackets wherein the exterior release liners are removed and the adhesive construction is applied to the opposite longitudinal ends or sides of the insulating jacket cover.

Abstract: A label forming laminate including a face sheet, a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive abutting on one surface of the face sheet, a paper backing layer, and a release layer between an inner face surface of the paper backing layer and the adhesive layer, the paper layer having one machine glazed surface and a clay containing coating on its glazed surface and having score lines formed in its second and outer face surface; the paper backing layer being relatively bulky and uncompressed and having embrittled fibers in its glazed surface.
