Abstract: A device for collecting aerosol particles in an exhaled air flow. The particles may be aerosol particles such as biomarkers or particles related to drugs or other substances formed or found in the alveoli of the lungs. The device comprises an elongate housing with an inner wall and at least four first type partition walls extending substantially perpendicularly from opposite sides of the inner wall to partly cover the cross-section of the housing. The first type partition walls create a labyrinth shaped flow path to divert air flowing from the inlet towards the outlet of the housing in a direction towards opposite inner walls of the housing so that the particles separate from the air flow and attach on the device. The distance between two opposite first type partition walls is smaller than the transverse width of the housing and increases in the flow direction.
Abstract: A portable handheld sampling device for collecting aerosol particles in a stream of exhaled breath provided with an inlet and an outlet, wherein the sampling device further comprises a housing and a collecting device holder removably arranged at least partially inside the housing, wherein the housing and the collecting device holder are arranged to guide the stream of exhaled breath through the device from the inlet to the outlet, wherein said collecting device holder comprises at least two cylindrical conduits arranged in parallel, each defining a flow path in fluid connection with the inlet, wherein a cylindrical collecting device is arranged in each conduit, the collecting device being adapted to collect the aerosol particles in the exhaled breath. A method for collecting aerosol particles in exhaled breath of a user using a portable handheld sampling device by means of a reopening breathing maneuver.
Abstract: A portable sampling device (1) for collecting particles in a stream of exhaled breath comprising a housing (10) with an inlet (11) and an outlet (12) arranged to guide the stream of exhaled breath therethrough, a collecting device holder (20) arranged at least partially inside the housing and comprising at least one flow path (21) in fluid connection with the inlet in which a collecting device (30) is arranged, the collecting device being adapted to collect the particles in the exhaled breath, wherein the collecting device has a diameter smaller than the flow path diameter and is movably arranged in the collecting device holder.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for collecting aerosol particles in an exhaled air flow. Said particles may be aerosol particles such as biomarkers or particles related to drugs or other substances formed or found in the alveoli of the lungs. Said device comprises a housing having an extension direction between a first end with an inlet arranged to receive an exhaled air flow and a second end with an outlet arranged to transmit the exhaled air flow and an inner cross section defined by inner walls of the housing and at least four first type partition walls, arranged in a direction essentially perpendicular to the walls, partly covering the inner cross section of the housing.
Abstract: In a method of forming patterns for bead-inlaid plates original pictures such as photographs are used which are converted to digital, bitmapped representations. From such a representation a pattern is then produced by a user selecting an area of the represented picture, by dividing the picture using a grid of intersecting lines forming squares and then a color matching in each square. In an interactive process, the colors in the squares are modified.
