  • Patent number: 8499083
Abstract: A relay device requests a status notification of another relay device to a server device. When the relay device is notified that the other relay device is under a logged-out status, the relay device stands by. When the relay device is notified that the other relay device has logged in, the relay device transmits a connection request to the server device. The server device relays the connection request to the other relay device. A response is transmitted from the other relay device to the server device, and further relayed to the relay device. Accordingly, a TCP connection is established between the relay device and the other relay device. A communication device connected to a different network can transmit and receive data to and from the relay device via the other relay device.

  • Patent number: 8272466
Abstract: A robot capable of traveling while constantly directing a predetermined part of a main body to a detection target. In the robot, a main body is jointed to a traveling unit so that relative rotation is possible between the main body and the traveling unit. Based on position information of a detection target detected by a position detection sensor, a control device controls, while the traveling unit is traveling, a body drive motor so that a front surface of the main body constantly faces the detection target and rotates the main body relative to the traveling unit. Accordingly, a CCD camera, a microphone, a speaker, display or the like provided on the front surface of the main body constantly face the detection target. Thus, the robot can reliably communicate with the detection target even during traveling, through mutual transmission of information between the robot and the detection target.

  • Patent number: 8204643
Abstract: Enabled is to estimate a self-position even when no landmark is seen or when an article confusing the landmark is brought in. An omnidirectional camera recognizes a vertical land-mark near a wall to determine a candidate for the self-position. On the basis of the candidate determined, a break in a map between a floor and a wall is projected on the camera image thereby to perform the matching.

  • Patent number: 8121724
Abstract: In response to a transfer request, for which a loading time at a transfer source and a loading time at a transfer target are designated by a production controller, there is created a transfer scenario, which contains a basic transfer (From) from the transfer source to a buffer near the transfer target, for example, and a basic transfer (To) from the buffer to the transfer target. In order that the basic transfers (From, To) may be able to be executed, the buffer is reserved, and a transfer vehicle is allocated. The time period for the transfer vehicle to run to the transfer source or the buffer and the time period for the transfer vehicle to run from the transfer source or the buffer are estimated to assign a transfer command to the transfer vehicle. The possibility that the loading and the loading time may deviate from a designated period is evaluated. In case this possibility is high, a production controller is informed that a just-in-time transfer is difficult.

  • Patent number: 8049934
Abstract: A communication terminal device includes a receiving unit, a printer unit, a selection registering unit, an extracting unit, and a determining unit. The receiving unit receives data. The printer unit prints an image onto printing paper according to the data received by the receiving unit. The selection registering unit registers a selection of whether or not to attach a storage medium, in which information can be electronically written, to the printing paper and to output the printing paper, by associating the selection with prescribed information. The extracting unit extracts the prescribed information from the data received by the receiving unit or data acquired in relation with transmission and reception of the data. The determining unit determines whether or not to attach the storage medium to the printing paper according to the selection registered in the selection registering unit by being associated with the prescribed information extracted by the extracting unit.

  • Patent number: 8019468
Abstract: A transport scenario composed of a basic transport (From) from a transport starting point to, e.g., a buffer near the transport destination point and a basic transport (To) from the buffer to the transport destination point is created in response to a transport request of a production controller for transport whose loading times at the transport starting point and at the transport destination point are specified. The buffer is reserved so as to perform the basic transport (From) and the basic transport (To), transport vehicles are allocated, the travel time to the transport starting point or the buffer and the travel time from the transport starting point or the buffer are estimated, and transport instructions are given to the transport vehicles. The possibility that the loading times are out of the specified period is evaluated. If the possibility is larger, the impossibility of a just-in-time transport is notified to the production controller.

  • Patent number: 7904716
Abstract: A digital MFP carries out an authentication of an operator by a user ID and a password prior to usage of the digital MFP. The digital MFP requests from the operator an instruction as to whether or not to store the successfully authenticated user ID and password in a flash memory along with a generated abbreviated code. When the operator instructs to store, the successfully authenticated user ID and the password are stored in the flash memory along with the generated abbreviated code. The digital MFP retrieves from the flash memory the user ID and the password that form a pair with the abbreviated code entered by the operator using the operation unit, and acquires authentication success or failure information with respect to the retrieved user ID and the password from an authentication server.

  • Patent number: 7872964
Abstract: A file transmission technique that does not make retransmission control complex even in a case in which a transmission error occurs is provided. A communication terminal executes a transmission job for transmitting an inspection indication file to the apparatus. When there is an error either in transmitting the inspection indication file or in receiving an inspection result file, the communication terminal executes a retransmission job after a predetermined time lapses. At this time, if there is a new transmission job generated for the same apparatus, the retransmission job is deleted. Alternatively, if there is a different retransmission job for the same apparatus, a retransmission job that has been generated first is deleted.

  • Patent number: 7848497
Abstract: A communication device and a communication method capable of transmitting data after confirming a destination device in one SMTP communication. A transmitter communication device carries out a communication request to a recipient communication device and SMTP communication is started. The recipient communication device transmits information of a recipient stored in a storage unit to the transmitter communication device under a prescribed procedure. Before receiving the data, the recipient communication device suspends the communication protocol with a communication channel maintained. The transmitter communication device displays the received information of the recipient on a display unit, and suspends the communication protocol with the communication channel maintained. Accordingly, a user can confirm a transmission destination from the display. After confirming the transmission destination, the user instructs to transmit the data.
