Patent number: 11137795Abstract: At least one touch sensitive zone detects user touch on or near a display. The touch sensitive zone triggers one or more electrical brake components that control friction of axial rotation about one or more display arm pivot points. At least one display arm pivot point is non-pivotally attached to at least one arm brake component, and at least one axial brake component is held such that it will not rotate about the axial movement of the display arm. At least one of the brake components will require electrical power to activate. At least one electric circuit is used to control power to the brake component. When the brake component is de-energized the display arm can pivot with reduced torsional resistance. When the brake component is energized it creates friction, thus adding torsional resistance to the display arm pivot point.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2019Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Assignee: Myerchin Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christian P. Patent number: 10208891Abstract: Adjustable computer touchscreen display mounting device adds an anti-toppling support system to prevent a computer touchscreen display device from toppling despite multiple operating positions. The touchscreen display may be repositioned in a variety of touch modes, which are primarily horizontal, and/or monitor modes, which are primarily vertical. A display base is held close to a desk surface whenever a toppling force is exerted on the display base. One anti-toppling support system pivotally connects anti-toppling arms, one arm being attached to a desk and another arm attached to the display base. In one touch mode, the touchscreen display is extended away from the display base far enough to shift a center of gravity for the combination of display and base outside of the base footprint.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2016Date of Patent: February 19, 2019Assignee: Myerchin Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christian P. Patent number: 9250650Abstract: A computer *display is pivotally connected to at least one *display arm, which in turn is pivotally connected to a base. When the *display arm(s) points upward from the base, the *display may hang in a vertical position. When the *display arm is lowered a torque is exerted on the *display to tilt the *display away from the base. When the *display reaches a *horizontal position an open space will exist under the *display that can be used to place items such as a mouse, keyboard, notepad, pens or other low profile devices. One or more feet are attached to the *display such that that when the *display is in the horizontal position the foot or feet contact a stable surface such as a desk, table or other suitably stable object, and further provides for such open space.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2014Date of Patent: February 2, 2016Assignee: Myerchin Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christian P. Publication number: 20140319293Abstract: A mounting base for a computer display device is disclosed having a counterweight that is coupled with one or more articulating arms configured to both maintain a center of mass of the base assembly with the display device to minimize a likelihood of toppling when the display device is pivoted outward about the base and to apply a counter torque to balance the display device when the display device is pivoted about the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2014Publication date: October 30, 2014Applicant: Myerchin Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christian P. Patent number: 8570723Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards a support structure for electronic displays, such as a computer display monitor, tablet, or the like, such that a cable actuated hinge moves the display from an elevated vertical position away from a user to a lower horizontal position closer to the user. In one embodiment, a computer display is pivotally connected to at least one display arm. The other end of the display arm(s) are pivotally connected to a base. One or more cable(s) are pivotally connected to the base. The cable(s) attaches to the display such that when the display arm(s) is pivoted downward the cable(s) pulls against the display arm(s) and toward the base.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2011Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: Myerchin Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Christian P.
