  • Patent number: 5839388
Abstract: A clip assembly is provided for fastening a boat top to a boat windshield frame which avoids corrosion, is simple and easy to properly locate and install, has long life, and is inexpensive to make. The aluminum extrusion frame for the boat windshield has an elongated channel with an open side with lips defining the open side. An integral piece of plastic anchor fits within the channel, with grooves receiving the lips, and a disc-shaped end engaging the extrusion exteriorly of the channel. A metal fastener having a screw threaded shank and a snap fastener head is screwed into the anchor, causing it to be biased into intimate contact with the channel so that the fastener head will not move once properly positioned and the fastener shank tightened. Cooperating fasteners on the boat top are then snapped into engagement with the anchored fastener head.

  • Patent number: 5013272
Abstract: A boat fender, or cushion, of flexible plastic (e.g. PVC) is particularly designed to fit on a boat gunwale to allow boats to be safely connected together for "rafting". An elongated integral hollow body of flexible plastic comprises a pair of generally cylindrical portions and a central portion connecting the cylindrical portions. Through-extending closed periphery open end openings pass concentrically through the cylindrical portions, and other sets of openings pass through the central portion perpendicular to the cylindrical portions. Lines (ropes) may be passed through the openings to lash the cushion to a boat (e.g. at a boat gunwale), dock, piling, pier, or the like. Reinforcing tubes extend in the hollow interior of the body at the openings, and the body may be inflatable. The device also may be used as a seat cushion.

  • Patent number: 4549070
Abstract: A combined cigarette and chart/map lighter includes a elongated plug body which is adapted to cooperate with a socket connected to a source of electrical energy. An ignitor coil and cup are formed at a first end of the plug body, and a lamp socket, for receipt of a light bulb, is disposed interiorly of the plug body at a central portion of the plug body. A removable cap is formed at the second end of the plug body. A leaf spring electrical contact is provided within the plug body and is biased into engagement with a ground formed by the interior shell of the plug body. A cam follower is formed at the end of the leaf spring contact. A plastic generally U-shaped reciprocal element has linear cams formed at the free ends of each of the legs of the U, the linear cams capable of engaging the leaf spring cam follower and moving the leaf spring out of contact with the ground.

  • Patent number: 4489955
Abstract: A wheelchair, for either street or sports (e.g. racing) use, is comfortable and easy-to-use, lightweight, and may be folded compactly for transportation. A plastic pallet supports a collapsible chair frame, and is mounted to a base frame for adjustment along the base frame to thereby adjust the center of gravity of the wheelchair. The rear drive wheels and the caster-type front wheels are both mounted to the frame for easy removal, utilizing a split-block receiving the spindle or shaft from the wheels. The blocks may be pivoted about axes perpendicular to the axes of rotation of the rear wheels to adjust the camber of the wheels, and--by effecting flexing of a leaf spring to which the blocks are mounted--the toe of the rear wheels may be adjusted.
