    Abstract: An electrostatic precipitator arrangement comprises an oscillating circuit in which the precipitator is included as a capacitor, the circuit also including a storage capacitor and pulse initiating means, such as a thyristor or a spark gap, for causing the energy stored in the storage capacitor to oscillate from that capacitor to the precipitator and then through a diode or other electric valve means having the opposite direction of conduction back to the storage capacitor.
