  • Patent number: 6902469
Abstract: A work chamfering apparatus includes a work holding portion. The work holding portion includes a work table and a clamper. The work table has an upper surface having two end portions each formed with holding grains projecting out of the upper surface. The two end portions of the upper surface of the work table have a static friction coefficient greater than 0.1, which is greater than that of a center portion. When chamfering, first, the work is held by the work table and a generally U-shaped member of the clamper. At this time, the two end portions of the upper surface of the work table contact a lower surface of the work, whereas lower surfaces of respective end portions of the U-shaped member contact an upper surface of the work. In this state, a rotating center of the work is between the lower surfaces, and the lower surfaces are apart generally equally from the rotating center.

  • Patent number: 6890392
Abstract: A method of making a material alloy for an iron-based rare earth magnet includes the step of forming a melt of an alloy with a composition of (Fe1-mTm)100-x-y-z-n(B1-pCp)xRyTi2Mn. T is Co and/or Ni; R is at least one element selected from Y (yttrium) and the rare earth elements; and M is at least one element selected from Al, Si, V, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Hf, Ta, W, Pt, Au and Pb, wherein the following inequalities are satisfied: 10<x?25 at %, *6?y<10 at %, 0.5?z?12 at %, 0?m?0.5, 0?n?10 at % and 0?p?0.25. Next, the melt is fed onto a shoot with a guide surface tilted at about 1 degree to about 80 degrees with respect to a horizontal plane, thereby moving the melt onto a melt/roller contact region. The melt is then rapidly cooled using a chill roller to make a rapidly solidified alloy including an R2Fe14B phase.

  • Patent number: 6872260
Abstract: With the deposited-film forming apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention, the distance between the tubular barrel and the evaporating section can be varied, unlike the prior art deposited-film forming apparatus and hence, the efficient formation of the deposited film on the surface of each of the work pieces accommodated in the tubular barrel and the inhibition of the softening of the formed film can be achieved simultaneously. Therefore, it is possible to inhibit the damaging of the deposited film formed on the surface of each of the work pieces and the production of projections on the deposited film, and to form a deposited film at a high quality in respect of a corrosion resistance and the like and at low cost.

  • Patent number: 6863986
Abstract: A resin molded product and a fine metal powder producing material are placed into a treating vessel. The fine metal powder producing material is brought into flowing contact with the surface of the resin molded product, thereby producing a fine metal powder, and forming a metal layer of the fine metal powder on the surface of the resin molded product. In this process, the metal layer of the fine metal powder can be formed firmly and at high density on the surface of the resin molded product. The metal layer exhibits a function as an electrically conductive layer. Therefore, a metal film having an excellent thickness accuracy, an excellent surface smoothness and a high peel strength can be formed in a simple manner on the metal layer by carrying out an electroplating treatment. In addition, it is possible for the metal layer itself to exhibit functions or properties such as an ornamentality.
