Patents Assigned to Net2Phone, Inc.
  • Publication number: 20030235183
Abstract: A method and system of performing call processing in a packet voice environment, and in one particular embodiment to a packet voice environment for providing enhanced services (e.g., voice conferencing, dictation services, and voice mail). By controlling multiple, independent inbound and outbound voice streams, enhanced services can be distributed and load balanced.

  • Publication number: 20030193933
Abstract: A method and system for routing and transmitting voice conversations across a packet switched computer network and a circuit switched public telephone network is provided. Conversion between packet switched computer network protocols and circuit switched telephone network protocols is performed by one or more phone switches which are coupled to the packet switched computer network and the circuit switched telephone network. Routing voice conversations among multiple phone switches coupled to the packet switched computer network is performed by one or more routing servers coupled to the packet switched computer network, or a user's local computer.

  • Publication number: 20030016656
Abstract: A method and system for delivering messages to customers/subscribers by “pushing” the message to the intended recipient(s) in voice form. By utilizing a digitized voice stream that can be routed over a packet switched network, the message can be distributed to multiple recipients cost effectively.

  • Patent number: 6473423
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and system for interactive communication between at least two users each provided with a telephone set of the switched telephone network, via the Internet. Each telephone set is directly locally connected to an associated interface device. The first user, who initiates the communication, dials on his set the telephone number of the second user indicating to his interface device that he wishes to communicate via the Internet. The interface device of the first user the connects with the interface device of the second user via the Internet, the two telephone sets being rung off. Once the connection has been established via the Internet, each interface device indicates to its associated telephone set, then each of the users picks up his set and communicates interactively with his correspondent via the Internet.

  • Patent number: 6393016
Abstract: A control process controls transmission of digitally encoded messages (DEMs) over a data communications network to allow real-time performance. The control process establishes a communication path which DEMs are sent. The control process can operate according to any data communications protocol, including the protocol native to the communicating device. The control process can establish communication paths based upon least-cost routing determinations. When there is insufficient bandwidth or excessive latency, the control process can choose a secondary path over which to transmit a DEM.

  • Publication number: 20020032731
Abstract: A group-browsing system for a plurality of clients each including a shared web browser. A server is linked to the shared web browser of each client and is configured to monitor the transmission of the web site URL request from the shared web browser of one client of the group and to direct the request to the shared web browser of other clients in the group. A gatekeeper module is configured to first mask the identity of each client's computer on the shared browser. This prevents the web site from retrieving any client's actual identifier. Second, the gatekeeper is also configured to create a same temporary identifier for each client when any client logs on to the web site so that the same web page is displayed for all the clients in the group.

  • Patent number: 6307853
Abstract: A telephony to data re-routing system (TDR) re-routes telephony communication over a wide-area network (WAN) or over a Public switched telephone network (PSTN). The TDR is coupled to a PBX which is configured to route telephony data to the TDR. The TDR processes the telephony data by converting it to a form that can be transmitted over the WAN. The TDR can also re-route the data back through the PBX for transmission over a PSTN. The TDR maintains the traditional telephony interface of dialing in response to a dial tone. Using the TDR, telephony users gain advantages offered by WAN data transmission including store-and-forward delivery, optimized bandwidth allocation, and secure data transmission without having to learn a new user interface. In addition, multiple call originator telephone devices can use a single TDR.
