  • Patent number: 11886594
Abstract: The disclosed method is performed by a cloud system for changing a registration of a network access device. The method includes initiating a change of a registration of a network access device. The registration is stored at a cloud system and indicates ownership of the network access device by a first user. The method further includes receiving an authorization from the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device by the first user, and receiving an indication of a physical reset occurring locally at the network access device. The physical reset allows the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device. The method further includes, upon receiving both the authorization by the first user and the indication of the physical reset, releasing the ownership by the first user of the network access device at the cloud system.

  • Patent number: 11743695
Abstract: Disclosed is a way to expand the range of Internet of Things devices in a home, office, or structure to the range of a local WiFi network. This is accomplished by generating a network bridge for the devices using machine-to-machine protocols to communicate using the WiFi network backhaul channel. Transmissions in machine-to-machine protocol are tunneled through WiFi communications and extracted by the closest access point. Access points include radios for both WiFi and machine-to-machine protocols.

  • Patent number: 11310636
Abstract: The disclosed methods and systems use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to model the usage and interference on each channel. For example, units of the system can measure channel interference regularly over the time of day on all radios. The interference information is communicated to the base unit or a cloud server for pattern analysis. Interference measurements include interference from units within the system as well as interference from nearby devices. The base unit or the cloud server can recognize the pattern of the interference. Further, connected devices have a number of network usage characteristics observed and modeled including bitrate, and network behavior. These characteristics are used to assign channels to connected devices.

  • Patent number: 11229023
Abstract: Disclosed is an access point (AP) for a network that includes security features for interacting with devices on the network. The other devices on the network may be other APs, client devices, or a backend configuration server. The access point includes a private key that is used to verify signals to and from (the private key may be different for different functions). In the case of other APs, the private key is used to verify control signals sent between the APs to identify and prevent a hijacked AP from taking control of the network by sending false control signals. In the case of a client device, the client device may use the subject AP's private key to identify that the subject AP is a trusted member of the network that may receive data. In the case of the backend server, the subject AP may verify configuration updates via use of the private key to prevent loading of malicious firmware.

  • Patent number: 11218809
Abstract: A passive cooling device is disclosed for use with a speaker integrated electronic device. Also disclosed is a method of using the device for generating passive cooling and increasing the sound output by the speaker integrated electronic device when outputting low frequency sound. The electronic device has an internal housing in which the speaker is located with a diaphragm extending through a void in the housing wall. The internal housing also has an air flow channel in fluid communication with the housing interior and an outlet adjacent an electronic component. Movement of the diaphragm directs moving air through the channel to reduce the operating temperature of the electronic component during speaker activation, while air movement in the internal housing increase the sound output by the speaker integrated electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11219024
Abstract: Wireless communication under IEEE 802.11 standards utilizing carrier specific interference mitigation where an AP or UE employs an ultra-wideband tuner to evaluate available spectrum between several communication bands. Rather than being constrained to communicate in a single communication band, the AP and UEs may utilize more than one communication band to communicate with one another. In doing so, the AP and UE search across several bands and measure interference on a carrier-by-carrier basis across those bands. Either of the AP and UE may select a cluster of carriers for communication, where the cluster of carriers may comprise 1) contiguous carriers in a single sub-channel, 2) contiguous carriers spanning across more than one sub-channel, 3) discontinuous carriers in a single sub-channel, or 4) discontinuous carriers spanning across more than one sub-channel. The mapping between a cluster and its carriers can be fixed or reconfigurable.

  • Patent number: 11206412
Abstract: An access point is configured to communicate with a wireless client device over a plurality of wireless communication channels. The wireless client device has an active operation state and a standby operation state. The access point detects a property of each of a first wireless communication channel and a second wireless communication channel, and applies a policy to the detected properties to select one of the first wireless communication channel and the second wireless communication channel. While the wireless client device is in the active operation state, the access point steers the client device to communicate with the access point over the selected channel.
