  • Patent number: 6305042
Abstract: A cleaning device having a cleaning head and an absorbent head is provided. The cleaning head is operable to clean a surface, and the absorbent head is operable to remove residual liquid remaining on the surface being cleaned. The cleaning head is attached to the distal end of a handle and is pivotally connected to the absorbent head. An actuator on the handle is displaceable in two positions to control the position of the cleaning head and absorbent head. In a first position, the cleaning head extends from the handle to clean the surface while the absorbent head is retracted. In a second position, the cleaning head is wrung while the absorbent head is pivoted to an extended position to absorb residual liquid on the cleaning surface.

  • Patent number: 5865551
Abstract: A cleaning device includes a cleaning head, such as a mop, for cleaning surfaces. The device includes an elastically expandable reservoir for storing cleaning fluid. The reservoir is enclosed within a replaceable cartridge fitting within the handle of the cleaning device. The cleaning fluid flows from the reservoir to a discharge nozzle and onto the surface to be cleaned. A fluid controller is also provided to control the flow of fluid from the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 5655248
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for cleaning surfaces such as glass. A roller wringer mop having a sponge head uses cleaning fluid to clean a surface. To wring the cleaning fluid from the sponge head, an operator displaces the sponge head between two parallel roller segments. A wiper connected to the mop head wipes residual cleaning fluid from the surface that has been cleaned, and is connected to the mop head so as to avoid interfering with the wringing action of the sponge head.

  • Patent number: 5625918
Abstract: An interchangeable head wringer mop with telescoping handle is provided. The device includes a handle and a mounting head. Rotatably connected to the mounting head is a wringer for wringing a sponge head. A plurality of interchangeable sponge heads having different configurations is provided. Each sponge head is removably connectable with the mounting head and is operable in connection with the wringer. Also provided are a pair of living hinges about which the sponge head bends during the wringing operation. Further, an extension telescoping within the handle is provided having two fixed positions.

  • Patent number: 5528791
Abstract: A wringer mop has a mop head housing, an elongated mop cartridge having an absorbent pad and a tubular mop handle. A pivot couples the mop head housing to the mop handle for pivotal movement therebetween. One or more pairs of spaced-apart wringer rollers are supported by the mop housing on either side of the mop cartridge to secure the mop cartridge within the mop head housing. An actuator mechanism includes a crank in the form of a linkage rod movably disposed within the tubular mop handle. A hooked end of the linkage rod extends within the mop housing into releasable pivotal engagement with the mop cartridge. The mop cartridge includes an tab having an opening therethrough which pivotally receives the hook. The actuator mechanism further includes a crank handle reversibly shiftable between first and second positions to pass the absorbent pad between the wringer rollers.
