  • Publication number: 20150080660
Abstract: A Laparoscopic Visualization System comprising a sterile, self-contained, disposable apparatus used in medical procedures for heating and applying an anti-fog solution to the distal end of laparoscopes or surgical devices is presented. It additionally serves as an endoscopic lens protector and cleaner. An efficient heating and narrow range temperature control mechanism is used in combination with an anti-fog solution to provide clear visualization through a distal lens of the surgical device inserted into the system. The configuration prevents the anti-fog solution from spilling out of the system and is designed to also be used as a holder for the surgical scope, protecting the distal lens from impact with a shock absorbent outer shell, prior to, during, and after a medical procedure.

  • Publication number: 20140336634
Abstract: A multifunctional surgical device particularly for use during electro cauterization for irrigation, and/or smoke and/or fluid evacuation as required. The device comprises a working hub incorporating an elongated tube and including a vacuum port disposed through an exterior wall of the hub, the port being fluidly connectable to a source of vacuum or irrigation fluid; a stopcock which selectively connects the vacuum port and an outlet into the stopcock from the elongated tube, the stopcock selectively allowing a fluid connection to be formed between the vacuum port and the elongated tube; an open central passage longitudinally disposed through the device; the elongated tube having proximal and distal ends and being disposed co-linearly with the central passage, sized and configured to seat within a cannula and receive within the central passage the shaft of an endoscopic tool, while space remains therearound to pass fluid in either direction about the tool shaft.

  • Publication number: 20140107558
Abstract: The device for laparoscopically delivering a solid material through a trocar into a body cavity comprises at least: a hollow tube defining a void therein and having a hub at a proximal end thereof, the hub having a proximal opening therein which forms a continuation of the hollow tube; the hollow tube having a prepackaged solid material therewithin; the tube having an outer diameter less than an inner diameter of a trocar through which the tube is inserted into a body cavity, the tube extending past a valve in the trocar when positioned therewithin; the hub having a diameter greater than the inner diameter of the trocar so as not to pass therethrough; and the material being suitably anchored by a string to the device so as not to become lost within the body cavity after being pushed out of the tube.

  • Publication number: 20080161646
Abstract: A device is configured for white balancing a medical videoscopic camera system prior to videoscopic medical procedures, as well as optionally simultaneously or non-simultaneously applying a fog-prohibiting agent to the distal lens of a medical videoscope such as an endoscope or laparoscope. The device combines a white balancing mechanism, protective mechanism, and defogging mechanism in one simple easy to use device.
