Abstract: An in-line holographic microscope can be used to analyze a video stream to track individual colloidal particles' three-dimensional motions. The system and method can provide real time nanometer resolution, and simultaneously measure particle sizes and refractive indexes. An assay using the holographic microscope for holographic particle characterization directly detect viruses, antibodies and related targets binding to the surfaces of specifically functionalized micrometer-scale colloidal probe beads. The system detects binding of targets by directly measuring associated changes in the bead's diameter without the need for downstream labeling and analysis.

Abstract: Holographic Video Microscopy analysis of non-spherical particles is disclosed herein. Properties of the particles are determined by application of light scattering theory to holography data. Effective sphere theory is applied to provide information regarding the reflective index of a sphere that includes a target particle. Known particles may be co-dispersed with unknown particles in a medium and the holographic video microscopy is used to determine properties, such as porosity, of the unknown particles.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems and methods for quilting are provided. In an illustrative embodiment, a quilt support includes a platform adapted to support an embroidery machine capable of quilting a quilt sandwich. A first support arm is coupled to the platform. The first support arm is adapted to support a portion of the quilt sandwich. A second support arm is coupled to the platform. The second support arm is offset from the first support arm and adapted to support a portion of the quilt sandwich. Apparatuses, systems and methods are provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for removing tangled thread are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus for removing tangled thread includes a thread grasper usable to grasp on to tangled thread. The thread grasper includes a handle portion and a grasping portion. The apparatus also includes a thread cutter usable to cut the tangled thread grasped by the thread grasper. The thread cutter includes a handle portion and a blade.

Abstract: Method, system, and programs for providing content to a user. In one example, the user is associated with a first user group. At least some information of the user corresponds to a first topic associated with the first user group. A second user group is then determined based on the first topic associated with the first user group. A second topic associated with the second user group is different from the first topic associated with the first user group. Content related to the second topic associated with the second user group is provided to the user.

One benefit of various embodiments of the present invention is that they enable primary hyperlinked content to be rendered, and for associated content (i.e., content located at the destinations of hyperlinks within the primary content) to be rendered without replacing, overwriting, or otherwise obscuring the rendering of the primary content. As a result, the rendering of the primary content remains fully visible after the associated content is rendered and while the rendering of the associated content is visible. For example, the associated content may be rendered in an existing display area that does not overlap with the display area containing the rendering of the primary content.

Abstract: Hoop docking apparatuses and methods are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a substantially planar hoop dock having a first side and a second, opposite side. The first side of the hoop dock forms a docking recess shaped to approximately contour a portion of an embroidery hoop. The docking recess is operable to receive at least a portion of the embroidery hoop.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved method and computer program product for quilting and embroidering fabric. The method comprises securing a quilt sandwich of top layer fabric, batting and backing fabric in an embroidery hoop and attaching said embroidery hoop to an embroidery machine. The user retrieves a digitized embroidery file that is fed into the embroidery machine. The digitized file instructs the embroidery machine to stitch the quilt layers together according to a predetermined stippling pattern and to stitch an outline for an appliqué. After an appliqué fabric is placed over the outline, the digitized file sews a tackdown stitch, after which appliqué enhancements or additional layers of appliqué may also be stitched. The quilt is then removed from the embroidery hoop and the appliqué and quilt are trimmed.

Abstract: A placement holder for an embroiderable comprising a magnetic hoop assembly for use in an embroidery machine. The magnetic hoop assembly includes a first hoop comprising a magnetic material and a second hoop comprising a quantity of metal sufficient for the first hoop to be attracted to the second hoop. The magnetic attraction between the first hoop and the second hoop enables the embroiderable to be held in place between the first hoop and the second hoop for embroidery. An adapter is attached to either the first hoop or second hoop. One end of the adapter is attached to the first hoop or second hoop, and the other end of the adapter attaches to an attachment mechanism on a pantograph on the embroidery machine.

Include tags, in html display, output custom or default information determined by the presence or absence of a unique identifier. In the event of perl-generated html, find and replace routines locate specific include tags and replace the include tags with custom or default information determined by the same unique identifier that dictates the selected viewer appearance. Accordingly, a vendor's web page may display content from a host's website while preserving the look and feel of the affiliate's web pages.

Abstract: A container system for microwave oven cooking comprises a main body, a lid, and a cap disposed in a recess in the lid. The cap is movable upward and downward through a limited range in the recess depending on steam pressure, and grooves, formed in a side wall of the cap, or in a side wall of the recess, allow escape of steam when the cap is moved upward as a result of steam pressure. The lid is also allowed to move upward and downward relative to the main container body in response to steam pressure, and, when the lid is moved upward, an additional path for the escape of stem is provided at the location where the rims of the lid and main body meet each other.

Abstract: A baseball type cap comprising a hemispherical shell defining an opening for reception of a head of a wearer, and a size adjustment mechanism mounted to the shell for infinitely adjusting a size of the cap. The size adjustment mechanism includes a flexible drawstring slidably disposed within a channel formed along a peripheral edge of the shell, and a shiftable clamping slide adjustably mounted to the drawstring. A middle portion of the drawstring extends from the channel through a pair of holes therein and passes beneath a retaining loop formed on an outer peripheral surface of the cap shell, forming a closed adjusting loop. The clamping slide is operably attached to the adjusting loop for controlling the size of the adjusting loop, thus operatively adjusting an effective perimeter of the peripheral edge of the cap shell that defines a size of the headwear.
