Patent number: 4385092Abstract: A macroboule is disclosed, formed of a bundle of hollow channel elements of fusible material and of different internal diameters. They are arranged with the elements of smallest diameter positioned in the center of the bundle and those of largest internal diameter constituting the outer row of the bundle with uniform or step by step graduation between these extremes. The macroboule is useful for forming a channel multiplier.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1965Date of Patent: May 24, 1983Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventor: Joseph Singer, Jr.

Patent number: 4186980Abstract: 1. A method of constructing an electronic device comprising the following steps:processing at least a portion of a first component of said device in a first chamber having an environment free of contaminants harmful to the processed portion;locating a second component of said device in a second chamber, separated from said first chamber by a barrier, and having an environment which may contain said harmful contaminants;protectively covering said processed portion of said first component;breaking said barrier between said chambers;and removing said protective cover from said processed portion during assembly of said first and second components without substantially exposing said processed surface of said first component to said second environment.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1966Date of Patent: February 5, 1980Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventor: Adolph Wolski

Patent number: 4175808Abstract: An image converter is fabricated by processing its photocathode within an evacuated chamber free of harmful contaminants. The evacuated chamber, in turn, is housed along with the remaining structural components of the intensifier in a further closed chamber that may be evacuated at the proper time in the fabricating cycle. The proposed photocathode is released from its enclosing chamber for only that short period of time required to effect a transfer from that chamber into mating engagement with the remaining envelope portion of the intensifier. When these components have thus been assembled, they are integrated to complete the device.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1966Date of Patent: November 27, 1979Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventors: Serge Pakswer, Constantin S. Patent number: 4128340Abstract: The disclosure relates to an apparatus for measuring the light intensity gain performance of an image intensifier. The apparatus includes a light source which illuminates the input surface of the intensifier with input light of predetermined and constant intensity, a light sensitive detector arranged at the intensifier output for receiving at least a portion of the output light produced by the intensifier in response to the input light and for providing an electrical signal having an amplitude directly related to the intensity of the output light and an indicator coupled to the detector for providing an indication of the intensifier light intensity gain performance responsive to the electrical signal provided by the detector.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1976Date of Patent: December 5, 1978Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventors: Ferdinand G. Fender, Jon E. Tegethoff

Patent number: 4127398Abstract: 1. A process for forming a multiple-channel micro-tubular device comprising the following steps:Assembling a plurality of individual tubes of heat deformable material into a closely packed array of a predetermined cross section;Applying heat to said array to fuse said tubes into a unitary honeycomb structure;Drawing said heated structure to reduce its cross section by at least an order of magnitude;Cutting the drawn honeycomb structure into segments of a predetermined length and entrapping gas in each of the component tubes of said segments at a predetermined temperature below the fusion temperature of said material;Packing a plurality of said segments together to form a cluster; And heating said cluster to a temperature above said predetermined temperature to fuse them into a unitary structure without collapsing said tubes.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1965Date of Patent: November 28, 1978Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventor: Joseph Singer, Jr.

Patent number: 3990874Abstract: In the disclosed process, a multiplicity of like fibers of fusible material are arranged in a bundle which is brought to the drawing temperature. The bundle is drawn to reduce its cross sectional area while retaining its cross sectional configuration. During the drawing step, a fluid pressure is maintained in the peripheral rows of fibers which exceeds that of the remaining fibers of the bundle to maintain a substantially uniform diameter of the fiber elements in the resulting drawn fiber bundle.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1965Date of Patent: November 9, 1976Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventor: Ronald Schulman

Patent number: 3973220Abstract: The disclosure relates to an amplitude control for controlling the peak amplitude of a transistor oscillator output alternating voltage and to an improved regulating system which includes an oscillator associated with the amplitude control for converting a DC voltage to an alternating output voltage having a regulated or controlled peak amplitude. The amplitude control comprises a control voltage generating means for providing a control voltage and clipping means coupled between the base of the oscillator transistor and the control voltage generator for varying the bias of the oscillator transistor responsive to the control voltage to thereby control the peak amplitude of the oscillator alternating output voltage.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1975Date of Patent: August 3, 1976Assignee: Ni-Tec, Inc.Inventors: Ferdinand G.
