  • Patent number: 4829420
Abstract: A process and a circuit arrangement for the automatic direct addressing of any desired memory location in the memories of a plurality of data processing units interconnected through a common bus by use of a single-step addressing technique is disclosed. The size of the memories used in the various processing units may be different. Addresses may be internally stored in the memories according to one of two addressing schemes. In a data processing unit initiating a data transmission connection, the external memory address of the desired memory location to be addressed is generated from an internally stored address and is transmitted to the bus system. This external address is received in each data processing unit, which performs an address calculation to determine whether the specified external address is within its volume or range of addresses.

  • Patent number: 4822189
Abstract: A drive arrangement for an ink ribbon cassette or the like having a transport roll arranged inside of the cassette permits the cassette to be inserted and ejected in a direction perpendicular to the transport roll axis relative to the receiving compartment of a ribbon device and also provides an automatic coupling between the transport roll and a drive shaft forming part of the device. The drive shaft is shiftable between a coupling position and a decoupling position set back from the coupling position against the force of spring means. On the forward end of the cassette as it is inserted perpendicular to the transport roll axis is a ramp which during the inserting movement of the cassette runs against the drive shaft and pushes it to its decoupled position. When the cassette reaches its fully inserted position the drive shaft automatically catches into the transport roll. Special actuating means are provided for decoupling the drive shaft from the transport roll.

  • Patent number: 4789287
Abstract: Through bolt connection for unilaterally accessible locations. The through bolt has a cylindrical head disposed eccentrically to the centerline of the bolt by a measure e, and a sleeve disposed likewise eccentrically to the sleeve centerline by a distance e. The bolt is received in the sleeve and together they are thrust into the through hole in the parts to be fastened. Head and sleeve are of the same diameter, so that they can be inserted together head-first in the through hole in one single position relative to each other. After the bolt head is located outside the through holes, the bolt is rotated through an angle of 180.degree. to the other side so that now, owing to the eccentricity, the head catches over the edge of the through hole and its bearing surface is in contact with the surface on the inaccessible side. In this position, a nut with washer may be screwed on and tightened with the sleeve performing the function of a locating pin.

  • Patent number: 4748398
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for the control of the series switching element of a clocked power supply unit has a pulse signal (Vt) delivered by a pulse generator. The pulse-interval ratio of the pulse signal can be varied as a function of a regulating signal (Vc) derived from the output side of the power supply unit and delivered by way of an optoisolator (13). The portion of the circuit employed as pulse generator (1) includes an operational amplifier (10) with feedback at both inputs. One feedback branch of the amplifier (10) contains at the amplifier input a capacitance (15) and a variable resistance. The variable resistance is formed by the parallel connection of a phototransistor (132) of an optoisolator (13) and an ohmic resistor (12). Accordingly, it becomes possible to produce a variation of the pulse-interval ratio of the pulse signal (Vt) either solely by modification of the pulse length or solely by modification of the pulse intervals.

  • Patent number: 4740784
Abstract: A character generator which converts character code words into data items, namely column code words (C code), for controlling a dot matrix output unit, is disclosed. The character code word is presented to an address memory circuit which generates a ten-bit-long column address (CAD) that identifies the locations of the column code words within a separate data storage unit. The address memory circuit includes two memory units (PROM 1, PROM 2) which store only the first eight bits of respective column data addresses, while an additional memory unit (PROM 3) stores the remaining two bits of the respective column data addresses. A multiplexer (15) is used to select the correct two bits of each respective column data address from an eight-bit word output by the additional memory unit (PROM 3) at the same time an eight-bit address is being output by one of the first two memory units (PROM 1, PROM 2).
