  • Patent number: 10113579
Abstract: A breakaway nut fastener is provided having a hybrid construction of plastic and metal. The breakaway nut fastener includes a head portion and a nut portion connected by a thin walled section. The head portion is made of plastic and has a shape so as to mate to a tool. The nut portion has an exterior shell having a cavity for receiving a nut insert. The nut portion's exterior shell is made of plastic while the nut insert is made of metal. The breakaway nut fastener's thin walled section is also made of plastic joining the breakaway nut fastener's head portion and the nut portion's exterior shell. The thin walled section is made of plastic, and preferably the head portion, nut portion and thin walled section are constructed as one part forming a single component of plastic.

  • Patent number: 9470252
Abstract: A hybrid stackable fastener is provided for mounting to a substrate having a threaded hole. The hybrid stackable fastener is constructed to support stackable fasteners not having a threaded element. The hybrid stackable fastener has a body having a central bore defining a central axis. The central bore is tapered so as to have a diameter smaller at the bore's proximal end than toward its distal end. The hybrid stackable fastener further includes a bolt having a screw thread which extends distally from the body's central bore. Preferably, the fastener includes a plurality of spokes which radially project from the body so as to support a concentric ring.

  • Patent number: 9470257
Abstract: A fastener assembly for affixing insulation blankets to a substrate is provided. The fastener assembly includes an attachment member having a construction for affixing to a substrate as well as a first fastener member preferably in the form of a male threaded stud. The fastener assembly further includes a cap fastener. The cap fastener includes a cap member and a second fastener member preferably in the form of a female threaded extension for threadably affixing to the first fastener member. The cap member has an exterior side and an interior side. The cap member's exterior side preferably has a shape for rotation by a tool. Meanwhile, the cap member's interior side has a circular recess concentric with the cap fastener's female threaded extension. When assembled, the circular recess forms a circular insulating cavity between the cap member and an insulation blanket.

  • Patent number: 9377135
Abstract: A stackable fastener is provided for mounting to a substrate having a non-threaded hole or for affixing to similar fasteners. The stackable fastener includes a body having a central bore, and a force member rotatable within the body's central bore. In addition, the fastener includes a plurality of fingers which extend axially from the fastener's body. Rotation of the force member causes the fingers to extend radially outward to lock within a substrate hole or within the central bore of a similar stackable fastener.

  • Patent number: 7195436
Abstract: An inset panel fastener anchors into honeycomb substrates employed in the aircraft industry. The inset panel fastener provides significantly increased load carrying capabilities with a simple inexpensive construction. The inset panel fastener includes a plastic casing and a central floating fastener element. The casing includes a body, disk and cap. The body is generally barrel shaped including a central chamber for holding the fastener element which is preferably a female fastener. The disk radially projects from the top of the body and includes a fill hole and vent hole. Meanwhile, the cap engages and covers the bottom of the barrel shaped body. The cap is affixed in place using a weld, such as a sonic weld.

  • Patent number: 6880787
Abstract: A ring-post fastener is provided for bundling and securing elongate objects such as electrical wires, tubes or hoses. The ring-post fastener includes an axially aligned post, a plurality of spokes radially projecting from the post, and a ring affixed to the ends of the spokes. The ring-post fastener further includes means for affixing the post to the support surface, such as male threads of a threaded fastener projecting from one end of the post. Preferably, the end opposite the male threads include female threads of a threaded fastener sized and configured for receipt of the male threads located at the opposite end of the post. Mating male and female threads of threaded fasteners enable the multiple ring-post fasteners to be stacked upon themselves.
