  • Publication number: 20090294451
Abstract: A bin and method for its use in recycling residential recyclable materials are described. The bin comprises a left and right sidewall, a base, and front wall; the front wall is lower than the other three walls, and when two bins are stacked in a 0° stacking configuration, the lower front wall of the lower bin and a sloped surface on the lower portion of the upper bin create a recyclable receiving chute that accepts recyclable materials freely. When in the stacked configuration, the upper bin is substantially securely held to the lower bin by a combination of a channel on the lower rear portion of the base that fits over a handle that rests upon on upper portion of the rear wall. Furthermore, a lower lip on the lower portion of the rear wall aligns with the handle and substantially prevents front-wards and backwards motion of the upper bin. The handle can facilitate retention of the liner as well, by holding the liner against the upper portion of the rear wall.

  • Publication number: 20080296194
Abstract: A container for containing and transporting baked goods is described herein. The container includes a front wall, left side wall, rear wall and a right side wall, wherein each of the walls is substantially orthogonal to a base. The base includes a substantially flat, smooth upper surface, whereby baked goods that are being stored and/or transported are prevented from being damaged. Integrally formed as part of and rising from the base are a plurality of base projections, each with a plurality of sloped curved wall surfaces that substantially prevent packages of the baked goods from shifting and/or sliding when in transit, thereby further preventing damage. The radii of curvature of the curved surfaces of the base projections is substantially similar to the radii of curvature of the packages of baked goods, as well as the baked goods themselves.

  • Publication number: 20080105583
Abstract: A three level nestable stacking comprising a base, a pair of opposing sidewalls, a pair of opposing endwalls and at least two bail arms. Each of the opposing sidewalls comprises a plurality of peanut or kidney shaped receptacles, and in an alternative embodiment, a plurality of slot shaped receptacles. The receptacles allow for ease of rotational movement of the bail arms between any of at least three positions. The three positions for the bail arms provide three stacking configuration for a second, upper container, in regard to a first, lower container: a nearly fully nested configuration; a partially nested configuration; and a substantially un-nested configuration. The opposing sidewalls also comprise a sidewall interlock system, as well as a container stacking structure. The bails arms are completely contained within the area of the container, and mate with grooves in the base of the container.

  • Patent number: 7353950
Abstract: A nestable container has a bottom and four peripheral walls extending upwardly from said bottom. At least a portion of the four peripheral walls extends outwardly from the container bottom such that the angle between said container bottom and said portion of said opposing side and end walls is obtuse. The four peripheral walls may include interior projections positioned substantially at a right angle to said bottom. Said container may further include a pair of bails and external projections positioned along said exterior surface of at least one of said peripheral walls. Said external projections may be positioned slightly inward of said interior projections, so that at least a portion of said external projections aligns with said interior projections when said container is stacked on said bails of an identical container.

  • Publication number: 20080023426
Abstract: A tray for transporting and displaying baked products is disclosed. The tray can be stacked in a 0° and 180° stacking configuration. The trays further include substantially non-glossy, non-smooth surfaces that allow stickers to be more easily removed, as well as drain channels in the base to facilitate removal of water following washing. The trays further include a scalloped handle on one side of the tray only to allow operators to more easily recognize which side of the tray they are facing. A tray retrieval tool can be used with several hook areas to facilitate retrieval of the trays following washing in high temperature water, or following stacking and storage. The trays further include spacers and spacer holes to place the spacers so that different types of baked products can be accommodated without damaging or destroying the baked product.

  • Patent number: 7320405
Abstract: A novel container (20) for transport or storage of products such as bread, buns, or other goods. In one embodiment, there is provided a nestable container with a base (24) and sidewalls (28, 32) that can be stacked in two positions for different products and can be nested when empty for compact storage. The container has levered positions for lifting out of each stacking position and into a corresponding sliding position. The sliding positions can be used to offset the container or containers from the stack and reduce the strain on the operator when lifting for destacking. Alternatively, the container can slide in the opposite direction for stacking in either position. Thus the operator can set the container down, offset from the stack, in the sliding position and slide into stacking position. Back strain can be reduced during stacking and destacking as the operator does not have to extend or lean over the stack to pick up or set down the containers.

  • Publication number: 20070187276
Abstract: A basket for shipping and displaying of baked products, wherein the basket comprises several features that substantially inhibit or reduce lateral motion, as well frontward and rearwards motion. Similar baskets can be stacked in a 0°, 90° or 180° configuration, and in the 0° and 180°, an upper basket can pivot and slide about a lower basket. Preferably, three window flaps are provided in one or more merchandising windows of the basket to allow consumers to retrieve baked product from an interior portion of the basket. The window flaps can moved from an open position to provide customers access to the tray, to a closed position to substantially inhibit or prevent product spillage when being transported or stored.

  • Patent number: 7036666
Abstract: A beverage tray has a floor with peripheral, upstanding side and end walls for holding a plurality of containers of beverage, for example in six-packs. The floor has a plurality of downwardly projecting detents on its bottom surface for cooperation with the tops of beverage containers in a sub-adjacent tray to impede free sliding movement of an upper tray over the beverage containers in a sub-adjacent tray to enable stable stacking of the trays, while at the same time enabling the upper tray to be slid over the cans in the lower tray to remove the upper tray from a stack of trays. The detents are rectilinear and present spaced, opposed, parallel, straight detents that define detent sets surrounding bottle top receiving areas. The upper edge of the side wall is smoothly sinusoidally curved to define spaced, alternating upper side wall sections and recessed areas.
