Abstract: A system and method of managing the profiles of users in a cloud based managed utility computing environment. New architectures and components are required for the delivery, management and control of a user's profile in a managed utility computing environment that works over the Internet (referred to in the title as the cloud). A user profile is built where the user can receive information of interest in a cloud-based managed utility computing environment. The profile stores the characteristics and interests of the users and this can be used to the benefit of the user and also the service provider. Applications and advertisements are provided to appropriate users.

Abstract: System and method for delivering cloud based utility services to a plurality of user devices associated with a user in a cloud based managed utility computing environment are provided. The system comprises a client side component having a client controller configured for receiving user profile, applications, content and type and characteristics of each of the user devices, a user interface for accessing the user profile, applications, content and type and characteristics of each of the user devices and a native interface for interacting with at least one operating system of each of the user devices. The system further comprises a server side component configured for acquiring the user profile, applications, content and type and characteristics of each of the user devices. The server side component is configured for delivering the cloud based utility services based on the type and characteristics of each of the user devices associated with the user.

Abstract: System and method for monitoring network connection are provided. The system includes at least one client device configured for providing a user access to a public network via a network connection and a network monitoring module coupled to the client device, the network monitoring module configured for monitoring the network connection based on an establishment of a transmission control protocol connection between the client device and the public network. The method includes steps of monitoring establishment of a transmission control protocol connection between a client device and a worldwide web server and generating network monitoring statistics on availability of network connection based on the information derived from monitoring.

Abstract: A system and method for communicating and managing data among a plurality of user devices are provided. The system comprises a utility computing agent installed in each of the user devices, the utility computing agent configured for managing data synchronization among the plurality of user devices, a central storage unit coupled to each of the user devices via a data communication network, the central storage unit configured for being a master storage repository, and a communication agent configured for communicating content from the central storage unit to at least one of the user devices.
