Abstract: Method and apparatus for the control of fluid flow using a flexible disc that is positioned in a control channel and restricted to movement along the longitudinal axis of the channel. Closure control is exercised by moving the disc into closer contact with a ring seat that is essentially self-purging of debris. Since the disc is confined to essentially longitudinal movement, distortion due to random lateral movement is avoided.
Abstract: Container with a wall that is integrated with a cap having a plug that extends sufficiently through a weakened region of the container wall to prevent inadvertent rupture of the cap during shipment and handling of the container. Because of the extension of the plug, inadvertent movement of the cap produces only a rotation of the plug into contact with a side wall of the container that limits any further rotation and prevents inadvertent breakage of the plug and consequent loss of the container contents. The container and integral cap are desirably fabricated by injection molding with plastic materials.

Abstract: Close fittings for frangible objects such as glass decanters provided by a collar which can include a pouring spout and handle. The collar is positioned on the rim of the decanter against a gasket which is drawn into compressional engagement with the rim, without any substantial transverse movement that could damage the decanter, by threading a member into the collar. The decanter and the threading member include mating inclined surfaces which facilitate the compressional movement of the gasket into close contact with the rim as the member is threaded into the collar.
Abstract: Apparatus for the control of fluid flow using a flexible disc that is positioned in a control channel and restricted to movement along the longitudinal axis of the channel. This avoids the disadvantages of variable positionable discs, while retaining their advantages. Closure control is exercised by moving the disc into closer contact with a ring seat that is essentially self-purging of debris. Since the disc is confined to essentially longitudinal movement, distortion due to random lateral movement is avoided.
