Abstract: A container holder includes a housing that defines a cavity therein. A liner lines the cavity of the housing and includes a resilient portion that is laterally movable responsive to insertion of a container into the cavity, to accommodate and support containers of different sizes. At least one spring finger extends adjacent the resilient portion and opposes the lateral movement of the resilient portion.
Abstract: A vehicle console with unique utilitarian features. One feature includes a table member that extends from a compartment to provide at least a writing surface. Another feature includes a slideable armrest and tray device. The tray device includes a rotatable tray that alternately provides a tray and a writing surface. Yet another feature is a storage compartment that can be opened by rotating the compartment about an axis.

Abstract: A novel glove-box door handle and latch mechanism is disclosed, having a housing member, a handle member, and an actuator member. The housing member is mounted inside of the glove box door, and the handle member includes an axle member which is pivotally mounted to the housing member. The actuator member is slidably disposed in the a channel inside of the housing member, and the handle member engages the actuator member to slide it between its open and closed positions. The handle member includes a pull member and arcuate extension arms connecting the pull member to the axle member to provide greater flexibility to the styling of the pull member. The arcuate extension arms include reinforcing ridges to minimize the necessary material while maintaining their structural rigidity.
Abstract: A vehicle glove box door latch assembly includes a housing with a central opening formed therein and a latch handle positioned substantially within the central opening. The latch handle is operative to actuate unlatching of the latch assembly. A utility hook is positioned substantially within the central opening and pivotally connected to the housing for pivotal movement between a stowed position within the central opening and a use position extended from the central opening. The utility hook is pivotable independently of the latch handle.
Abstract: A glove box door latching assembly comprises a latching mechanism including three plastic molded parts and a spring. The mechanism includes an offset latch member which allows positioning of the mechanism closely adjacent a longitudinal end of a glove box door. The assembly also includes a lock tube formed integrally therewith for receiving a locking mechanism. The lock tube is flush with the front face of the mechanism to allow the lock tube to be covered by the glove box door if the locking feature is not desired. The universal latch assembly design is widely applicable to various glove box door assemblies.
Abstract: A new latch assembly for a vehicle glove box door, or other locking device, wherein the door is to be held in a flush position relating to an adjoining panel surface. The latch assembly includes a freewheeling locking feature, an actuator member which is not sensitive to the striker positional variance, improved low handle opening effort. The latch assembly also include improved lock cylinder loading, and improved closing efforts by use of a molded urethane bumper. The latch assembly also has improved styling with a single color throughout using no metal parts which need lubrication, and the latch assembly unit is fully enclosed so that no moving parts are visible and the scorpion tail has been not used.
Abstract: A new latch mechanism for a vehicle glove box doors, or other locking requirements, wherein the door is to be held in flush position relative to an adjoining panel surface, said latch mechanism comprising, an injection molded plastic body, an injection molded plastic handle, an injection molded lock member or actuator member, with the previous parts being spring biased into their appropriate positions during operation of the latch mechanism, and with the actuator member being of sufficient width to provide a strong retaining force for the latch mechanism upon the event of a vehicle crash impact and also acting to provide a wide contact locking surface to thereby assist in preventing flex distortions between said door and panel surface.
