Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for a container is provided. The closure comprises a first portion including inner and outer parts, and a second portion. The outer part is movable relative to the inner part from a first position in which at least part of the first and second portions are adjacent each other, to a second position in which there is a gap therebetween. The first portion comprises locking means for irreversibly locking the closure in the second position upon first opening so that the gap cannot be closed. The outer part includes a top plate and at least part of the locking means is carried on or by the plate.

Abstract: A thermoformed article having two or more parts (125, 130) is provided. A first part is formed from a first thermoplastic material and a second part (130) is formed from a second thermoplastic material. The first and second materials are mutually incompatible. One of the parts (130) has one or more projections (131) and the other part (125) has one or more corresponding cavities (126a) into which the projections are formed. In which the mouth of the or each cavity is narrower than at least part of the or each projection such that the shape of the or each projection allows withdrawal from but resists reinsertion into the or each cavity.
Abstract: A child-resistant closure includes a body with a base and a lid, the closure having a locked position in which the lid is held in a closed position and an unlocked position in which the lid is released and can be moved to an open position. The sidewall has one or more pressing pads for moving the closure to the unlocked position. The or each pad is supported on the sidewall by force insulating links which restrict lateral spreading of forces into the sidewall during inward deflection of the pad(s).

Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for a container comprises two or more parts and is movable from a first position to a second position in an opening event, the movement to the second position generating two or more gaps between and/or within the parts, the closure further comprising means for preventing closing of the gaps whereby to confirm the opening event has occurred.
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for a container comprises a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being connected or connectable to the second portion and removable therefrom. The closure is movable upon a first opening from a first position in which the portions are in a first relative relation to a second position in which they are in a second relative relation. The closure comprises means for preventing the portions from returning to the first position. The closure comprises a removable retention member which attaches the first and second portions together such that the member must be removed before the portions can be separated from each other.
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure for a container is provided. The closure comprises a first portion including inner and outer parts, and a second portion. The outer part is rotatable relative to the inner part from a first position in which at least part of the first and second portions are adjacent each other to a second position in which there is a gap therebetween. The first portion comprises locking means for irreversibly locking the closure in the second position upon a first opening so that the gap cannot be closed. The inner part includes a line of weakness which breaks if the outer part is reverse rotated relative to the inner part.
Abstract: A retaining device (1) has a non-laminar self-closing valve (2) retained therein. The valve comprises a flange (8), and the rigidity of the flange (8) is increased by the device (1). The retaining device is a single-piece article.
Abstract: A self-piercing closure for a container includes a laminar closing member, a closure body, and a piercing member for piercing a closing member. After piercing of the closing member, a self-closing valve of the closure dispenses flowable media from the container. In some examples, the piercing member is formed separately from the closure body, and is attachable to the closure body. The closure body may include a deformable region, and deformation of the deformable region may allow the closure body to move from a first position to a second position. Movement of the closure body from the first position to the second position may activate the piercing means.
Abstract: A child-resistant closure (10) is provided and comprises a base (15) and a lid (20). The base has an inner skirt (50) and an outer skirt (25). The closure has locking means (81, 86) tor releasably locking the lid in a closed position. The outer skirt has one or more pressing zones (80, 85) which can be pressed to release the locking means. The inner skirt has one or more cut-outs (65, 70) in register with the or each pressing zone whereby to allow greater deflection thereof.

Abstract: A closure for a container comprises tamper-evident means for indicating if the closure has been removed from the container. The tamper-evident means is provided within the interior of the closure.
Abstract: A pouring fitment (10) for a container, the fitment comprising a body with a spout through which liquid product can be dispensed in which the spout has a mouth including one or more corners (33) and one or more sides (32) such that the fitment can be selectively orientated so that fluid flows over a corner or across a side whereby to provide alternative fluid flow characteristics.
